The response from Customer Services is predictable.
I know e-bay is not the same, but if a customer in a bricks and motar store were to act in this way at the very least they would have had a life time ban.
E-bay are quick to ban sellers who do not conform to accetable behaviour, it is now time for them to ban buyers who behave in a similar way.0 -
I think with the negs as long as they leave a full 7 days between them then they count,
Not sure about that. If the sales occurred in the same week.
I don't know if this is any help to you, if the worst happens - but it may give you some ammo (for some nice ebay rep to help you out), if they try to get round it.
Must be some sort of Policy Breach surely?
Multiple item bought in the same week
(If the sales occurred in the same week)
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/feedback/howitworks.html
I think it applies for stars as well (multiple items bought in the same week) should only count once.
Good luck, they sound like a right sad...............

OK, I've now had more emails, basically he wants a full refund, plus all the costs if returning upfront otherwise he will not send item back.
The language about being a lying scumbag of a seller has started up again.
On the rare occasions I have had an issue with an item I have been happy to send the return postage upfront, but I suspect whatever I do here I am going to get a neg, so am holding out for the item to be returned.
I have made one of those 'report a buyer' reports to ebay as per tech's suggestion. I have also suggested to buyer that as we cannot agree how to proceed that he protects himself by opening an SNAD claim against me to 'formalise it'.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Good for you Soolin and I hope you get this sorted.
I know how upsetting this can be as my son had a bizarre experience with a buyer who, because he didn't block her, went on to buy something else from him and trash his stars and included negative feedback. The only reason this seemed to start was that she arranged for someone else to pick up the item from him without telling him and when he was out. He also had an email from another ebayer who wanted to warn him about this particular woman. All got very strange with rantings about how God would see him for the evil person he was. She was eventually kicked off ebay but has now, somehow, managed to get a new ebay account. He only found out by chance when he spotted his original item was for sale on ebay.
Son has got so paranoid that he checks every bidder against the town she is from.
Soolin, this buyer must be making threats to other people too and not just you. Here's hoping their ebay account will be closed down.Saving money right, left and centre0 -
Sorry you've had to go through this.OK, I've now had more emails, basically he wants a full refund, plus all the costs if returning upfront otherwise he will not send item back.

At this stage, I'd send him a part refund to cover the return postage. Chances are that will be the last you hear of him.
I know from personal experience how one customer can sour your views and make you want to throw the towel in. I've had probably less than one in a thousand 'nutty' customers but always end up feeling the same when they come along.
The worst ones are the ones where nothing will work to appease them. My one way of coping is to write a message that I would like to write and then deleting it and using a standard response. That way I get it out of my system and haven't resorted to their level.
Hope you get it sorted..0 -
So sorry you have to put up with this Soolin, but as others have said try not to take it personally [i know its easier said than done]0

I would not refund any money. The relationship as already broken down - due to the buyers rudeness - you have nothing to gain.
By all means - offer to pay return postage on receipt - i always do - even if the buyer has just changed their mind. But you have nothing to gain now.
I usually report buyers as i am dealing with them, without telling the buyer. On the odd occasion, i have told the buyer i have reported them - and that i will only respond after speaking to my Ebay advisor. One buyer told me if i didn't refund the 50p extra i had charged for P&P - her Ebay advisor had told her she was within her rights to leave a neg. I told her my personal advisor had told me that was feedback extorsion - and she wanted the name of her advisor :rotfl:. I never heard from her again.
Ebay cannot really act yet - as you have not receieved the neg. But your right to start the process of reporting them. Its on file now - and does empower you a little. But if they don't remove any bad feedback, after the threats you've had - i would be shocked. Don't forget to mention, if it happens - they asked for money and hinted at bad feedback if you didn't send any. Doesn't matter if it was for postage - they demanded money. Ebay DO have a policy on that. Best to speak in a language Ebay understand. The last buyer who demanded money from me, got a warning off Ebay - and my neg was removed. She emailed me afterwards - saying she did not know it was againt Ebay rules, and would i remove the warning. I just ignored the email. The neg was for a 99p item that she said was "not as lovely a colour as she thought it would be". It was £10 in Boots. The listing included the colour name and pictures. She offered to remove the feedback for a fiver. Some people are just nasty.
Tell the buyer you will be happy to refund all costs, once you have the items back. I then suggest you ignore them. I assume you have already blocked them.0 -
Case has been opened against me and item has been returned (as per case) . I have notification from ebay that I have the case and that nothing will show on my expanded dashboard if a refund is given in 10 days.
Ebay merely asked me to confirm that I will refund the original payment once it has been returned, which I have of course agreed to .
techspec, I wish I was brave enough now not to refund the return postage as well as ebay do not require me to do so under the terms of the case that has been opened. However, you know me and I will just cave in and return the lot. It appears only one item is being disputed now, so that is something at least.
To add to my down beat mood I had a 'broken'i tem returned today (i rarely ever have anything returned so this is unusual) and the item is as perfect as it was when I sent it out, absolutely nothing wrong with it at all- obviously full refund and return postage given already.
Someone remind me why I sell online please- I am beginning to forget why I bother

Paying return postage means the moron moves on quicker.
Not paying = angry buyer still has it in for you and is more likely to carry it on.
The sooner they disappear back under their stone - the better.0 -
gosh what a depressing read. sorry to hear of yr horrid experience. as other posters have mentioned, you have offered expert knowledge here freely and gracefully and it's a shock to hear you can be so disturbed by one ranting, shafting buyer. i do hope the new report this buyer button has an effect in future. there are many fraudsters, chancers and malicious buyers on ebay and yet ebay do nothing to protect the sellers. your nutter will doubtless pull the same act on some other unsuspecting ebayer and cause similar upset, if not considerable financial loss. i can only offer sympathy and best wishes.0
