De-lurking to say hello and to wish you well with your journey.
I am sure you will do a dance for joy the day you see the back of Littlewoods. Keep going and you will get there.
You are doing so well.
Aaah thank you SweetPea. You are soooo right. L1ttlewoods are EVIL....and sooo tempting. I will most definately be writing to cancel my account with them and will block their website on my computer.
Because I live quite a long way from any major towns, L1ttlewoods has ended up being my main place to shop and its such bad practice because its the MOST expensive way to shop.
Only four more months :j0 -
Well......I am trying very hard not be to annoyed, but I am not winning.
Hubby took all his scrap metal to a local place today and guess how much they paid him???
:eek::eek::eek:£418 :eek::eek::eek:.
He came back and gave me the cheque and said. "Thats for my shotgun fund, not the bank":(:(.
It would have been soooo lovely to have been able to bank and keep that money.
I got abit snippy with him and said that after this shotgun is bought, I don't want him thinking of anything else he needs, because we need to pull together with this debt.
I am here selling all my family jewellery and anything that isn't nailed down and he is pocketing all of his "boy stuff" for treats for himself .
He did have a point that he has wanted a shotgun for ages and how else is he going to be able to get it. At least it isn't impacting the budget.
Just sad I guess as I have virtually run out of anything to sell and I WANT THAT MONEY !!!!!!0 -

I'm a bit the same BUT I only ever buy stuff when it's reduced - I never, ever pay FP for their stuff as it's way overpriced:mad:
I fell victim to the 20 weeks thing many a time, I don't buy from it for ages, then buy a load of stuff so my payments are then huge - when really the best trick is to buy a couple of things (depending on the cost), pay them back and then get something else.
Pants to hubby & the shotgun - I thought he "wasn't that bothered" about getting one? What happened? (How much are they?)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I know what I'd do with his shotgun
How much are shotguns??? Has he got a licence coz they are pricey too aren't they?
Can you compromise and go 50/50??
Your ebay sales are going brilliantly :T when you've got yourself sorted you can treat YOURSELF to something. You have to have something to look forward to ...............

Hi guys
Rising - Yes thats exactly how I got in the catalogue mess. We were so deep in debt, I could'nt afford the children birthday & christmas presents. Their birthdays are both at the end of the year (Sept & Dec) so I bought loads all at once.
Then in December L1ttlewoods suddenly wanted £1100 payment . Yikes.
Am nearly out of it now and the payments are more under control, but I am still a month behind on payments. Have just kept my fingers crossed that as I only now owe £1700 and I am paying around £600 per month, that it isn't worth them overly persueing me, except for the £12 late payment charge they wack on each month.
He was'nt that bothered about the gun until someone in the village invited him on a shoot, he shared a gun, but now he is back wanting one again. They start at £800 , so that is what he is aiming for.
Fifty - He has the licence unfortunately, no chance on going 50/50.
He figures he works 40 hour a week and the bank has all of that, so any extras can go towards his gun. Thats ok when its the odd £20, but £400 !!!.
I really want a Polytunnel. They are around £500-£700, but that is for us as a family to grow veggies etc, which will in turn save us money over the years.
Don't know when I will ever afford that.
I think my treat would be a takeaway - I really miss the odd chinese or indian. A nice night where I don't have to cook. We would put the kids to bed, pop out a get a takeaway and a Cadburys Chocolate Orange. Yum, my perfect night in :T
Once to OD is gone I will do this.0 -
