  • That blasted Aunt Flo has alot to answer for in my opinion !!! :rotfl:
LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
    Total debts Nov 2011 [STRIKE]£96796.75[/STRIKE]
    Total Debts JUL 2020 £00.00
    Cleared Jul 2020 £96796.75

Emergency Fund / Rainy Day - £5500 . DMP Mutual Support Thread 428

  • My Overdraft is heading to be -£1655 at the end of this week :T, abit scared to ACTUALLY record it at this level in my signature because unless I do some more REAL heavy selling, it will fluctuate between -£1655 to -£1800 over the next few months.

    :j:j Well done!

I've taken mine off my sig as I was getting really depressed about it :o

As you say, it fluctuates constantly so it's really hard to gauge how much progress you're actually making - the only way I've managed to come up with is to see what it is the day before each payday ... and only being able to do it once / month means (for me anyway) that I get really depressed seeing it sit at the same thing day after day for the whole month!

Once yours gets to a "settled" level with a bit of leeway (maybe once you don't go over £1800 for a couple of months & are happy you won't) but still have the extra £700 (as we don't want to go into the extra bit again if we can help it!), I'd start on some of the other debts that have higher interest (if any?)

Glad Aunt Flo doesn't visit here!
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!
  • Thanks for all your kind words girls.

I know that its the time of the month that is making me more stressed and u pset about stuff, but its so hard to keep a level head sometimes.

Wish there was something i could take to make the emotional turmoil go away. The older I get the more effected I seem to be by it....weird.

Rising -You are very lucky to not have Aunt Flo visiting - She's a not a nice lady .

Have managed to have a nice quiet nice with the children, hubby has'nt been in the best mood but he is like an atmosphere sponge and if he senses a bad mood he will trump me with an even bigger one. I don't think he likes to be outdone ;).

Off to chill out with some dregs of alcohol I can find in the cupboard. Normal service will resume tomorrow, with a non-hormonal smile on my face (I promise :))

  • Morning all

Thought I would do a proper reply this morning, now I am out of my funk :o

Pinot - Thanks so much for my kick up the bum. I was horrible yesterday. Never thought I was an overly emotional person but the older I get it seems to get worse :o.
I think it does get hard when im feeling like everyone around me has lots of money and are doing nice things, nevermind it won't last forever.

PLMBL - Thanks hun, felt abit self indulgent moaning when really things arn't that bad. Its just hard to keep the money saving momentum going without getting dragged down sometimes :)

Zepsgal - Thank you hun, I must sort myself out a little treat for certain. I have been invited to a friends for a chilli and movie night next Friday. So now I have something to look forward to. Will only cost me abit of petrol and maybe a bag of nacho's to contribute to the meal. :T

Rising - The overdraft is such a tricky one - At least I can usually see it going in the right direction at the end of each month. Going to try to sell on Fleabay to make sure it does'nt start going to wrong way ;)

Thanks again all my internet buddies. I can't tell you how much you helped me yesterday. :heartsmil
  • Morning Diary

Had a strange thing happen with my spreadsheet.

Childrens Tax Credit have started paying on the last day of every month instead of their usual 8th of every month.

They did it in January and I thought maybe that was them being really sweet and helping out us skint people after Christmas :rotfl:

But it has gone in again today. This is fantastic news for my spreadsheet as it makes my end of month overdraft total look amazing :T.

I have updated my signature, and looking forward I just need to sell £200 on Fleabay in February to make sure it stays the same:j

Have now paid off 19% in 3 months

That has cheered me up no end. This is one of the rare occasions that I ACTUALLY feel like I am winning. Just got to wait for something to breakdown now :);).

    Hope everyone is well xxx

    Thanks Eco Farmer.

Not quite sure how I have managed to get this far, although it might have something to do with me selling anything thats not bolted down on #bay. :rotfl:.

Its amazing what you can do without :o
  • Postman has just been..

Just one lovely letter from L#ttlewoods telling me I am £614.03 in arrears due immediately :o.

I was due to pay them £400 in a week, so decided to pay the total arrears now. Have logged it as paid on the 1st Feb, so it doesn't affect my lovely Overdraft amount.

Will do some more heavy selling on #bay in FEbruary to try to make sure I can keep my OD at the same level of £1100.
DO NOT WANT TO GO BACKWARDS.

Have updated my signature. Don't mind paying the extra really as it is all coming off my total.

I owe them another £453.80 due 15th FEbruary. No chance of paying this until the beginning of March, but hopefully this latest payment will keep them off my back.

Not long to go now until it is all paid off and then goodbye horrible catalogue company :T:T:T.
