  • Morning Diary.

Monday morning again, my how fast it comes round.
Poor DD tried every trick in the book to get out of going to school today. Last night she asked for a sick bowl, and then called me up to show me she had been ill, when really it was some of her water she had poured in ;). Crafty monkey....

Not going to be a NSD for me today as got to pop into small town to buy some brown paper to package up all my fleabay sales tonight. Hate the packing up bit. I only post non fragile stuff now because it always ends up in pieces. Probably my impatient packaging technique :o.

Think I have got 3 more NSD's to do to achieve my target of 25. That means no more spending for the rest of this week, so have to make sure I get everything I need today .

Been invited to a friends house for lunch today. Really nice because she lives very close to small town, so I can do my shop and then nip to hers without costing me alot of fuel.
Its been ages since I went to someones for lunch, so really looking forward to it.

Had abit of a crafty idea - The friend who I am lunching with today, is a hairdresser.....She is on maternity leave at the moment, her baby is about 6 months old. I might try a cheeky ask, to see if she would consider highlighting my roots for me on the cheap.
If she would agree to do it for me for about £20 then that would be fab.
Been very tempted to try a box highlighting kit, but haven't plucked up the courage yet :o. she might be the answer to my prayers.

I desperately don't want dark roots, but I cannot afford the £65 at a hairdressers at the moment. I don't want to have to squeeze that in my budget.

Fingers Crossed she will do it.

Hope you are all well today, at least we have no snow. Hope its gone for everyone else as well.

    Speak later
    Steph xx
  • lol @ your DD, that's something my DS would try! I like their thinking though.

Enjoy your lunch today and I think its a great idea to ask your friend about doing your hair, chances are she will jump at the chance as it will keep her trained so to speak and its a nice treat :D x
  • i dont know where you live exactly Steph, but i've just bought a Wowcher voucher to have my hair cut (£11) and then its and extra £15 for a colour so a lot cheaper. so if your friend isn't able to (although i'm sure she would) you could look out for vouchers like that in your big town if poss.

Fingers crossed with your 3 NSDs to go :)

    Have a great day x

    Morning Steph!

Fingers crossed your friend helps you out with your hair, she gets paid and you get it done cheap, it's a win win!

Well done on the ebay sales too, that's a really good amount of money for your items! Sad to sell family jewellery but... Needs must and all that.

Have a good day sweetie x

  • Morning Steph,

The hairdressing idea sounds a good plan. I think we always feel happier if our hair is nice !

My DD1 has beautiful blonde hair, but we had a bit of a mishap recently with an over enthusiatic hairdresser who got scissor happy and left her chopped and snipped including chopping off her beautiful blonde bits leaving only the darker colour underneath, she was so upset as she had a party three days later ! . I have always refused to let her have her hair coloured as all of her friends do, but on this occasion I bought a £4 Highlighting kit from Asd@ and popped a few little blonde bits in for her. It was so easy and looks pretty and I am no hairdresser I can assure you !

Hope you have a lovely day x

  • Afternoon everyone.

Thanks for all the lovely replies this morning.

I had a great lunch and a girly catch up with two of my friends. Felt good to have a break from staring at my spreadsheet:o.

I managed to get some cheap-ish packaging from small town, so should be able to get all my fleabay parcels done up tonight and posted off.

Thanks for the tip about the wowcher vouchers LL. I have signed up to my two nearest cities (Bournemouth & Bristol). I saw the advert for the highlights, cut & Blowdry, but they are not in either of my chosen areas :(. Joys of living in the sticks.

I have looked at my local college, they have a trainee's salon there and I think it will be about £30 for me to get my hair done. Its still a 20mile round trip but I might be able to time it for doing an Ald1 shop or something to help with the fuel cost.

I spoke to my friend about the hair- do. apparently she does'nt have any of the products at home anymore and would'nt trust the boxes :(. did'nt get anywhere with that . Nevermind.

Horrendous weather out here today. Wind & rain lashing down...Yuck. Dog is definately not getting a walk today.

Hope everyone is doing ok and still in good spirits. Talk later x

    Update.

Just called the local college, and they do half head highlights with a cut & blowdry for £25. :j Bargain.
Hopefully i won't come out with green hair, but its definately worth a try out. Over half price :T.

Am booked in for the 28th Feb. Got to find time to pop in for a skin test at some point. Hope to find myself in big town before then and will get it done at the same time to save a special journey.

I really hope this works out as they will save me ALOT of money. :j
  • Great news about the college. I'm sure they will do it just fine! I am usually a model for the trainee at my usual hairdressers - they don't let you anywhere near until they are nearly qualified anyway! The only thing is it takes longer, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time Xx
    Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

They offered me a 1pm slot, I refused that one as have only two hours then .

I am now booked in at 9.30am...Fingers crossed I am not in there all day :D

You won't be there all day, unless you get a trainee like me :rotfl: My god, I'm making myself feel really old now, it feels like a lifetime ago that I took a hairdressing course!! I was 16, straight out of school, let loose on dummy heads, classmates and finally, the general public

Good thing with these courses is that they only have a set time limit for each class. So cutting is taught from 9am-10.30, colour from 10.45-12 noon, then lunch, then blowdrying from 1pm-2.45pm etc. When they book the public in as clients, the colour and cut class gets combined, so 9am til 12 noon is the alloted slot. You will definately be out for lunchtime, don't worry :)
