  • I've all but stopped using my tumble drier, I've got a really good airer with lots of drying space on it but wierdly it doesn't take up much room. I leave it by the bedroom window and make sure I do a wash each day and they're dry on the airer within 24 hours. I did use the drier to dry the bedding last week so I don't want to get rid of it for good. It also helps that the drier is upstairs, so there's no piles of drying in the kitchen waiting for me to take it upstairs and put it away, I just do it straightaway now when it comes off the airer.

Woop! Well done to your hubby, they do come in useful sometimes lol!

Well done on paying off so much as well, lots of your hard work is paying off :)
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • Are you hiring him out? I have a zillion jobs he could be doing for me :rotfl:

Haha I ought to, might make us some money :T.

I told him, he is just making life harder for himself, because the more things that break and he fixes then I am going to expect him to do it everytime :rotfl:.

Its great being able to stick our fingers up to bad luck and say "haha not this time" :j

    Me too!:D

I am useless at DIY :o I have a shelf thing - that should be really easy to put up and I make a total hash of it  (had to get the polly*filla out to fix the holes in the walls in the end and it's lying in the spare room)

  • Thanks for your replies Housework Fairy, Zepsgal, Fifty & Rising.

Hi Zepsgal, not seen you for a while. I must look up your diary :)

Housework Fairy - I would much rather not use the drier, but until hubby makes me an airer (which isn't looking likely) then I will have to rely on it.
Have vowed to put the washing outside on the line on any decent day. Did'nt do it at all last year, I was very lazy. :(

Rising - I am pretty useless at DIY, thank heavens hubby is. Although I tend to not bother more because hubby is such a perfectionist, that when he comes home he either moans about how shoddy my job was or takes it apart and re-does it :o:mad:.

Have managed to find 5 more things to go on E#bay. Rubbish/not needed to me but might make abit on e#bay.

Total items bidded on comes to £94 at the moment, fingers crossed they will top the £100 mark.

Its great really, it de-clutters and makes you money. win win situation. :j

Well better put kiddies to bed, speak later xx
  • Well done Mr Steph!! :j:j

Can't believe you managed to get washing on the line! We are still frozen in snow! I don't have a tumble dryer either, so my stuff is all on airers.

Haha PLMBL, I got confused for a minute and thought you thought I was a bloke :rotfl:.:rotfl:

Can you believe it, we had a lovely mild sunny day. So weird after we had a seriously freezing day yesterday with last bits of snow around. Washing nearly dried, thankfully managed to finish it off in the tumble after hubby saved the day.

Have been a little bit silly. I have opened up another Excel sheet and carried my spreadsheet over to 2014 .
Abit foolish of me as literally ANYTHING could happen before the end of this year and us not be on track, so I should'nt tempt fate and tease myself with a nearly debt free looking spreadsheet.
    But I could'nt resist.:o

Well its been a wobbly week, but ended up good after hubby fixed the car and the tumble drier, so am a not-stressed-steph for now ;)

Nearly at the end of January and I can't wait. Its been a successful month and I am looking forward to a nice short February:T

    Good night
  • Lol no I meant your hubby!

I don't think there is anything wrong with doing a spreadsheet for 2014. It gives you something to aim for and can carry you through the tough times, knowing the end is in sight. Yes, things may change, but if they do it will give you are focus to get back on track.

Glad you aren't stressed :D Xx

  • Thanks PLMBL.

Its certainly is nice to see the end of the debt next year.
Hopefully I will only be left with the two big Credit cards (V1rgin & T#esco) Trouble is at the moment they total £8590 .

I will only be able to make minimum payments this year so doubt very much that the totals will go down much.

It will probably take me the best part of 2014 to pay them off, but paying £700 at a time at least will be rewarding, as I will see the totals reducing very quickly.

Aaaaw Wish I was there now :o.

Very windy outside here today, but the sun is trying to show through. If they had'nt forecast rain, I would be dashing out with my washing. Doubt it is worth it though.

Not much on today. Got a chicken defrosted, so will do a nice roast dinner and bake a cake for packed lunches next week.

Thats about all. Bank statement won't change today.

Did notice that Littlewoods want £1000 this month and I only have £400 to throw at it . Guess I will get a load of their £12 charges thrown at my account. Not much I can do about it though unfortunately :o

Have a great day everyone. xx
  • Morning Steph ...... glad to hear you're not stressed!

Our weather's been really odd - a few miles up the road (any direction) and there's snow & DM / DF have around 3 feet of it and they're not far away .... and we've none!

It must be something to do wtih the hills that surround us!

It's quite mild today ... but unfortunately no wind (after howling a gale most of the night ) so not worth putting the washing out as it's damp outside.

Brilliant news on seeing your OD come down - I've forgotten what the limits were - are you out your "extra" bit (the bit with the huge charges) yet?
