uid be furious with my hubs as well if he had done that regarding the scrap money. it must feel like you're banging your head against a brick wall.

great idea for the kids. makes them earn their money & value hardwork rather than just expecting money.

  • Love the pips idea Steph. I think I will introduce that when mine are older. They are nearly 3 and 16 months so a little young yet!

Yes yours are still abit young.

I can remember doing up a house rules sheet for my two before they could read and i printed off lots of pictures of children bouncing on sofa's and pulling each others hair etc and put a big red cross through each picture to try to make then understand what they were not allowed to do. Hehe. Not sure it worked too well.

So much easier now they can both read. Both of mine have become quite obstinate lately and felt they needed abit of an incentive to buck their ideas up as moaning obviously isn't working.

will probably make me bankrupt though :)

    Hi LL

Yes feel abit like I am doing this all on my own. When I WILL get really angry is if he thinks of something else after he has bought the shotgun .

Just listed the two mopeds that he bought back from his dads to sell. Have told him that it has cost £10 each to list these bikes and I will be knocking off those fee's and any final value #bay fees off his winning bid. He did'nt dare argue :o;).

Annoying thing as well is, after he has sold everything to fund the shotgun, there will be nothing else of value left to sell for the bank account .

    MEN!!!!

    Hi diary

Definately not a NSD today :o.
Had to go into town to:-

    Post 2 #bay sales
    Bank cheques
Draw out £25 for sons TKD Grading this Saturday (Budgeted)
£10 birthday present for Friend (Budgeted)

I ended up buying Ds a large tupperware sandwich box that he has been asking for (£6.99) and two maths study books for the children (£3.99 each).
An UN-BUDGETED spend of £14.97 .

Had to virtually take myself by the scruff of my neck and walk myself out of town before the spending flood gates really opened.

Its so dangerous going into town, you can convince yourself that you need EVERYTHING.

Was so horrible getting home and having to add an extra cost into the spreadsheet. Feel very dissappointed in myself.

Thank heavens I don't go into town very often. I obviously haven't totally got my impulse buying under control.

It strikes me as daft for a man to really annoy his wife, when about to buy a shotgun! Am sure Midsomer Murders could make a plot out of that.

Maybe he wants the shotgun because I won't let him spend any money anymore .

I am worth more dead than alive :rotfl:.

Had better start being nice to him again :o

My dh is mad about flight sim and other geeky stuff but fair play he hasn't spent a penny from our account on it but from links on his blog that companies pay for, that way he gets something he enjoys doing and I get some peace and quiet! X

It's not £800 worth though, I'd definitely be miffed!

Well done on your continued debt busting x
    Next debt to bust c/c £1253.53 24/4/13 - Now £1211.91
  • Hi SSteph

Sorry to hear that you are having a tough time. I suppose you now have to reconcile yourself to him getting the gun. Let him sort it out and try not to let it get to you.

Vent your frustration into trawling the house and selling anything thats not tied down. In the end you will be free of the debt and have money to save for all you want to do.

Take care you have lots of support here. ((((((()))))))
  • Thanks for your replies Sweetpea & Evacakes.

Think I have pretty much #Bayed everything that I can bear to give up. and beleive me I have been very ruthless. I have sold ALL my family jewellery. I tried not to be sentimental as they have sat in my bedside drawer for the last 15 years without me ever looking at them. Alot of it was'nt very fashionable anymore so nothing I would ever want to wear.

I figured financial security will make me happier than old rings in a drawer :o;).

Had a nice surprise on my spreadsheet today. I had been waiting for my January payment to my Virgin Credit card of £107 to come out. As it is the 5 Feb and not gone yet, I logged onto my account and they say the next payment is 18th February :T. so I am £107 better off than I thought.

They definately did'nt take any money in January. Don't really understand but not complaining :D.

Just had a massive snowstorm here, with snow going horizontal. Stopped now and the sun is back out. Very weird.

Got to sort our Mr T Broadband today. hubby is fed up of the internet being incredibly slow, so got to call them and either switch again or see what they can do. wish me luck.
  • Morning Steph,

Sorry your DH is driving you mad at the minute with the shotgun fund. I hope once hes got to £800 he carries on his momentum and helps you with the debts.

Dont even get me started on the school trips, I was having the same conversation with my childminder last night. Why cant they give you more than a few weeks notice !!!!!!! DD has a trip for £14 that needs paying by 15th Feb. I went in and paid it yesterday and the DD comes home saying her teacher had told them all their trips still need paying! I am furious because a. I have paid it and 2 weeks early and b. they shouldnt be debt collecting with the kids as far as im concerned. So im going to speak to the teacher about it tonight. Its so not on!

    Hope your ok anyway xx
