Does'nt sound alot, but I guess if thats £2 per day for me thats £60 per month . Yikes.....
Have decided that we could possibly fit one of those old fashioned airer that get pulled up to the ceiling by a rope. We could fit a 5ft one that would hang above the hot water tank so lots of warm air rising.
Hubby said he will make me one :T:T It may well take until next winter for that to happen but fingers crossed he tackles it soon:T.0 -

Don't know where that figure came from - and it may well depend on the age of your TD - mine costs around 20p / load:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Haha thats funny, but I don't blame you. He might not be so careful with his amount of washing if he knew he could throw it all in the tumble.
I definately like the idea of a wooden airer hanging from the ceiling. I might put a wanted on Freecycle or check out #bay, just in case a cheap 2nd hand one is about.
Rising - I could do with one of the meters that calculates the amount of energy something is using, but thats more money and promised I would'nt keep misc spending.
I am very good at persuading myself to spend in order to save...If that makes sense. When any saving I might have made is ruined by the initial spend I did.
Ok am not making much sense so will sign off0 -
Loz ... that did make me :rotfl:StressedSteph wrote: »I definately like the idea of a wooden airer hanging from the ceiling. I might put a wanted on Freecycle or check out #bay, just in case a cheap 2nd hand one is about.
I don't think they're that expensive ... mum's got one in her utility room - you can pick up the end bits pretty cheap & then just need to get the bits of wood & rope... something like this http://www.raygrahams.com/products/116164-rack-end-for-ceiling-airer-350mm-white.aspx?gclid=CN36k6nq7LQCFeTMtAodNXYAzA or a full one http://www.philipmorrisdirect.co.uk/gnu-utility-clothes-maid-airer/product/?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=organic&gclid=COXQybjq7LQCFaTMtAodCEEAbA (or just the diagram to help hubby with ideas!)StressedSteph wrote: »Rising - I could do with one of the meters that calculates the amount of energy something is using, but thats more money and promised I would'nt keep misc spending.
Dad's got one - that's how I know roughly how much a load costs in the TD:)StressedSteph wrote: »I am very good at persuading myself to spend in order to save...If that makes sense. When any saving I might have made is ruined by the initial spend I did.

Afternoon Diary
Have had quite a busy morning, catching up with things I needed to do on the computer after it being out of service for 4 days .
Have packaged up and paid for the postage on my four Ebay items I managed to sell. Have just transferred £22 into my bank account. Not a massive profit but better than them just sitting round the house gathering dust.
Have still Got a couple of things I can try and sell on Ebay, but will tackle that tomorrow as have alot of cleaning to catch up on this afternoon, and dinner to prepare.
Another NSD today, that takes me to 15 days so far :T.
Found lots of lovely victorian airers on the internet, but they cheapest I could find was £40 and no local 2nd hand ones about. I have resisted and will wait for hubby to have a go at putting one together. (Look at that, I resisted my first temptation to take the easy way out and impulse buy :j).
Hope you are all having a good day

Hi Rising,
I just missed your post.
I was looking for the 6 rack one, as we have such alot of washing. Can't seem to find the rack ends with the 6 holes, but will have a look about.
Hubby is very practical and although it probably would'nt be a nice cast iron thing, he might make it all out of wood or something. Its just him finding the time thats the problem.
Glad you understood my rambling hehe. I know what I want to say, but I am not very good at putting it down in words0 -
Very quick look ... 6 racks are a bit more expensive!

You'd probably find cheaper with a hunt around - meantime, keep an eye on free*cycle, Gum*tree etc ... you never know!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thanks so much for researching that for me Rising. £40 is still more than I would like to spend. If i could have found something half that price I might be able to justify it.
I will have another chat to hubby tonight. I am sure he will be able to copy the set up in a rustic but cheap way :rotfl:.
