Sally, ensure you have a copy of the Vodafone t&c re unlimited texts from the various links.
Ask them to refer you to where their t&c show the texts to be limited to 3000.
Also refer them to the official replies from their technical team that says that the unlimited texts are unlimited now and have been for some time.
If all that fails, ask the how you raise a dispute and then use the various evidence from the links here to compose a complaint letter through their procedure.
Good luck0 -
Thank you, have written everything down so I dont forget things. Will get back to you when I have any informtion0

I'm surprised you think 'unlimited' means that - for the last 7 years it has always had a caveat called a 'fair use policy' as for most folk, 3000 IS unlimited - the small print is key, as as you have discovered, there is a limit. This is also to protect users from bulk SMS spamming at minimal cost.
Even the Advertising Standards Authority are happy to allow 'unlimited' claims modified by a fair use policy if 95% of users never reach the limit. So, take their best offer, and be careful in future!
Not any more.
For the last 8 months or so we have had to remove all our unlimited policies where the service is not truly unlimited and quote the actual allowance.
So for example, Unlimited calls and Unlimited broadband really do mean that when they say it in recent ad campaigns. You should, legally, be seeing more and more adverts for services stating large figures for minutes, texts and data.0 -
What a con!!! Unlimited has to be unlimited. 3000 texts allowance is not called "limited". Even a limit of 1 million texts is still NOT unlimited. What a CON CON CON. I hate these companies who take advantage by using misleading ad.0

mines called unlimited but when i got it through p4u they stated 3000 texts still says it on orange bill thoughWhat goes around-comes around0

Just had a phone call and spoke to a helpful man and he is looking into it for me, I probably wont have any info till late next week though as he is not going to be in the office but will let you know how I get on when he has had time to look into it.0

For reference, all new Vodafone contracts, purchased through Vodafone Direct, I am not sure about the 3rd parties, if it says unlimited, then it is.
ie, new red plan, has no limit on minutes nor texts, and you can also get unlimited data, no cap, as well, just need to know how.0 -
I have also had this happen to me with Vodafone too, not with text message but mine was with data, my plan says unlimited text and unlimited data. One month my daughter had a new phone and had it set up to push emails etc, not think that there would be a problem with the data as its 'unlimited', she had a text from Vodafone saying that she was close to her limit and that they were going to charge a extra £5 for data as she is using too much. When we contacted Vodafone they said that 'unlimited is capped at 500mb' so after a lengthy arguement on the phone about the name unlimited not being unlimited etc etc, they eventually dropped the £5 fee.But now we are very careful with it and make sure that anything that eats data is turned off. They should say that it is 500mb of data and not say that its unlimited just so that they can attract customers by the name unlimited.0

Just to update you, I had a call back from a Supervisor/manager which was arranged on 23rd when I phoned the main customer services. I explained that the web team were sorting it out but obviously if she could clear the matter up then that would be great. Cutting long story short I pointed her to the T&C that Guys Dad gave me the link for and she had me on hold and came back saying that I will be credited the full amount so as you can imagine I was very pleased about this. So im assuming it will show up on my online account in the next couple of days.
I cant thank you enough for the help, links etc as I have been worried sick over this and I really appreciate everyones help, thank you
Edit to add : Can now confirm my account has been credited so thanks again for the help.0 -
Hi *Sally*,
Thanks for your time on the phone at the weekend.
I'm pleased to see that since our conversation a solution has been reached.
In regard to the wider issues which have been discussed in this thread I'll refer things to the relevant department with a view to providing a definitive answer.
Kind regards,
Lee
