    Labels, Labels.

I think it might be a lot easier to post on a mumsie, daddy, granny, relationship etc. board than it is to label oneself as a saddo, single, nobody.

I was tongue in cheek about the singleton description, but you get the drift.

How many dating sites are out there anyway ? Which kind of means that to many people, being single is the pits.

So now all singles are acknowledging their status. Some might be OK with that, but many are not.

I am really confused about what board I should post on. I am not sure life is always as clear cut as singles & couples. I have a partner, we are engaged but not rushing to get married. I have my own house and so does he. Mostly we live apart. A few months ago he stayed with me as I was very ill and needed some care. He then went home. Now he is back with me while some work gets done in his house. When the work is done he will return to his own house. I usually just live with my cat. Partner and I have seperate finances. Not sure if we are a moneysaving couple or singletons? Most confusing.

Well where the heck are us single mums meant to go then if we're not 'singletons' 'cause we sure as hell aren't in a couple!
Did they kill off the families then?

There's singletons, couples and a mums, dads grandparents etc board which appears to be for topics relating to things to do with the kids

    And killing spiders.
  • You know what,

I am single, I don't have a mortgage, I live with family so can't decorate or do anything to the house, I'm not in debt and I have savings, I don't have a credit card, never taken out a loan or bought anything on finance, I don't have a small business or claim benefits or tax credits, I havent been on holiday for 5 years, I don't have a garden, I rarely buy anything online, I never sell anything online, I don't have kids, I have pets but they're not really mine so I don't pay for them, I'm not over 50, I don't care about cars, I have no say in who we get our gas/electricity/water/television/phones from, I can't afford a lot of things because I'm doing it on one salary, as are many many other people here. Why not have a place for money saving singletons? I am one!

I am just a single woman in full time work who wants to save enough money to buy a small house. I do not fit into any of the forum categories really, yet I still have managed to join in at moneysavingexpert without being made to feel unwelcome, it is the people that make someone unwelcome, not the board name.

Every part of this forum is a division based on circumstances, with the one uniting factor being money saving.

I'm single, that's a fact and managing money IS different when you're single, wether you like to admit it or not, you can be single with kids, without kids, with pets, or just with plants that you've named and say hello to every day, or whatever it is that YOU decide being single is.

And on a side note, this is a free forum offering invaluable advice from people who have been there and done that and I don't really mind what the boards are called because I still get what I came here for, so what if I get it from a board for singletons, or a board for couples, or for over 50's or for those in debt.

It weren't broke so why did they try to fix it? They've fixed us single people good and proper, feels like I've been named, shamed and alienated :(

Don't worry - soon you will be targeted and they will have you signed up on a free dating trial before you know it. ;)
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
