Sports Direct are not known for being very co-operative with refunds - ensure you can take it back before you buy!
  • acron5 I shall tell you what is pathetic is the fact that some people are trying to create something thats not there,
If somebody asks a question on sites like this then people should be allowed to ask questions in return.
The OP has not helped herself by overreacting to genuine questions.
I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

Of course, you could have asked "Do you have access to the receipt? That would be the easiest way to find the balance."

Instead you chose to ask prying questions about personal circumstances, claimed the OP keeps changing their story, pointed out why you were so much better than the uncle, and still failed to make any useful suggestions whatsoever.

So if he has a problem with basic tasks who sorted out the vouchers for him?

    His carer.

The op said it was his carer there was no problem with that.
And it continues in post 38 by unholyangel
I'm not sure why you would consider my question rude when the OP suggested that the Uncle seems to struggle to know whats going on.

I already knew she did not have the reciept so why ask again ?

When did I say that when did I even come close to even suggesting that ?
And It was not I who pointed out that she said her son was in the shop in his school uniform on a Sunday but then said it was a Friday. I just said she was contradicting herself

I always hand over the receipt when I give a gift voucher just in case they need to prove it's theirs.
It's no big secret how much the voucher has cost me.

It added nothing to the discussion and it was no help to the OP. It was solely you trying to point out why you're better.
  • My god you are clutching at straws and just making things up. That statement was totally Innocent and had no ulterior motives
Stop looking for things that are not there

Clearly I have wound you up but it was unintentional I apologise for that.
Now for the good of the site I hope this is the end of the matter.

Oh, don't start that again! I've already told you numerous times, I am trying to sort this out on behalf of my son who is 15 years old. When I say 'My' money I am speaking hypothetically so stop being so pedantic. And you are one of the rudest and noseyest of the lot on here so I would kindly request that you keep your opinions to yourself from now on thank you.

You seem to be attacking anyone who has a diffence in opinion but I'll attempt to help you anyway ...

The only way of you knowing the balance on the cards is where it says 'remaining balance' on the receipt, so they are not lying when they say they only know the balance if you buy something, as you get a receipt.

in my experience they always give you the receipt inside the gift card and tell you to keep it, for obvious reasons. Even if they dont say that for whatever reason it's basic common sense.

there are items for ~10p in there, buying one of them wouldnt kill you if you are that desperate to find out how much is on. Alternatively, if you have seen things online they may be in store, it may just not be your local one so if you know of a bigger store go to that.
