Why all this talk about a receipt for a gift card?

Is a gift card refundable after three months?

Is a part used gift card refundable after three months?

Well if OP hasnt used the cards (or knows how much she spent) then they'll know the balance of the cards ;)
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Och ignore the snide comments. Not really needed. Would you be buying any men underwear this year? The boxers in there are actually not bad quality. I know, not £150 worth, but might be easier buying some branded stuff and selling that on. Sorry, dunno how hard/easy it is to sell vouchers like this on ebay, especially when you don't know how much is on them.

  • EDIT: No matter, replying to an earlier post which doesn't matter now
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
  • Never mind about the b***** receipt! I am NOT going to ask an 89 year old man to dig out a receipt for a birthday present. It's rude and ungrateful.

I only came on this site for some friendly advice, and apart from one or two people the rest of the replies have been either rude, nosey, sarcastic, suspicious (maybe you think I stole the cards?) derisive or just downright unhelpful. Is it always like this on here? I am not a thief, a liar or a cheat but I get the distinct impression that is the opinion of a few people on this forum. Shame on you!

Seeing as the cards are only redeemable in the store, I would have thought it was in their best interests to give me the balance? Obviously not. Maybe they think I'll get fed up with it all in the end and just shove them in a drawer where they will stay until they expire and Sports Direct walks away with £150 of my money?

I don't think I'll be visiting this site very often, and I certainly won't be recommending any of my friends to it either. What a welcome!

Thank you to those that did try to help and give advice, it was much appreciated. The rest of you need to take a close look at your rude, nosey and horrid replies and think if they are really suitable for a public forum? I think not! :(
  • Your money ? Does your son have any say in what happens to his gift vouchers.
What do you expect people to think when you keep contradicting yourself.

  • Oh, don't start that again! I've already told you numerous times, I am trying to sort this out on behalf of my son who is 15 years old. When I say 'My' money I am speaking hypothetically so stop being so pedantic. And you are one of the rudest and noseyest of the lot on here so I would kindly request that you keep your opinions to yourself from now on thank you.

Ok, so you have 4 gift cards and don't use sports direct (as you have quite clearly stated) so the total amount should be the £150. I'm guessing they aren't valued cards say with £20 written on the front. So they will be charged up cards with x on them. If they were all given by one person on one birthday why are they on different cards?
  • Hey Cavyslave try this.

Go in to store, find the most expensive thing you can (that costs substantially more than the value of the vouchers) take it to a till and say you'd like to pay for this using the vouchers.

They will tell you you don't have sufficient credit in the vouchers. Ask how short you are. When they tell you, just explain you don't have enough money, return the goods where you got them and leave. Job done. Very long-winded way to do it, but I guess it would work. I would also suspect just asking politely would probably work (I'm not saying your son didn't!)

How on earth can you accuse people of being nosey when you post stuff on a public forum?
You need to take a good look at yourself before you accuse others of being rude.

Who Knows? He's 89 years old don't forget. When he was first given them he used one or two of the cards (he can't remember which ones) to buy a football and some goalkeeping gloves. The remaining balance on the cards is what I want to find out.
