    Hey Cavyslave try this.

Go in to store, find the most expensive thing you can (that costs substantially more than the value of the vouchers) take it to a till and say you'd like to pay for this using the vouchers.

They will tell you you don't have sufficient credit in the vouchers. Ask how short you are. When they tell you, just explain you don't have enough money, return the goods where you got them and leave. Job done. Very long-winded way to do it, but I guess it would work. I would also suspect just asking politely would probably work (I'm not saying your son didn't!)

Thank you cracklepop, that is an excellent idea! I'll do that this week. Sorted! :)

Never mind about the b***** receipt! I am NOT going to ask an 89 year old man to dig out a receipt for a birthday present. It's rude and ungrateful.

I only came on this site for some friendly advice

Most retailers when selling vouchers staple the reciept onto the voucher.
So it is clear just how much is on them.

If passing these onto a 3rd party as a gift. Or recieved from work. We always leave the reciept stapled on. So the new owner has a easy reference as to the value of the gift card.

TBH. This is one of the kinder forums going. If you don't like a reply then ignore it.
No matter where you go on the internet they are the keyboard jokers, who can offer no constructive advice or even worse BAD/WRONG advice.
They live to bait people into arguements.

I would ask. That you take a long hard look at your 1st post. Read it through as if you were going to reply to it.
Do you then see why you got some of the replies

Yep, you said it. There's a few of those on here.

Thanks to the few people that gave constructive advice. :)

So if he has a problem with basic tasks who sorted out the vouchers for him?

Really, what the hell has that got to do with you?
  • Really, what the hell has that got to do with you?

Because there was a question asked regarding a receipt.
And the question was not directed at you so I apologise if it seemed that it had been

It was irrelevant and rude. If the OP had the receipts they'd have said so when first asked.

What was rude about it ? The OP has said that he had difficulty remembering what day it was and gave the impression that he was not capable of looking after himself.
You need to read the thread,,, If the OP did have the receipts then there would be no problem and that is why it was suggested that she approached the carer.
If you do not think that a receipt is relevant so be it I will respect your opinion.
By the way I had sent you a PM about a hour ago explaining my actions

Sadly there are often rude and sarcastic replies to posts on these forums. They make me laugh and nothing more. I can appreciate your frustration but just read them, forget them and look for some more useful ones. I was just wondering if you couldn't just buy a large item from them which you don't really need using the vouchers and then go back a few days later asking for a refund. They would have to put the refund back on vouchers but at least you'd know how much you had on them. As for selling them on e.bay, it would be a bit of a gamble for the buyer. I would only be willing to pay a very small percentage of the face value in case they were not of the value stated, (no reflection on you, this is just my opinion of ebay in general). Perhaps buy some branded stuff as others have suggested and try selling that instead. I know that ebay purchasers may consider these to be possible fakes too but I'm sure they would take the risk as these would be lower priced items.

Maybe the board guides should consider locking his thread sick it has now turned to anarchy. Why it has is beyond me, it's hardly unreasonable to want to know the exact balance of the cards without making a purchase yet op has had been bombarded by idiot remarks! Jeeze
