  • So true.

Wishing you well too, sounds like we have the same bug, when you start coughing do you then start slurping as well :rotfl: I've been up most of the day today but only pottering and doing paperwork, to the sofa for the rest of the evening for me.

Slurping and burping, me! Not a pretty sight or sound!! I'm curled up with a cat on me at the mo, moussaka in oven and salad ready to wash, then SCD and b@@@@r all else! Like you, I'll be on the sofa, me with my cuppa in my hand!!

Has a strange pain earlier though - almost as if a big Dylan doggie had bitten me on me bum!! Anyone know if any (Lame) wolves who might have organised this!!!

I do hope you are soon better, keep warm and rested, R x
  • Evening all, well i've had an exciting morning helping at the elf thing. DS3 was a picture when santa came in and piped up that he had been bad because he lost his list and lost his bell from his hat. Santa of course said he could write another list and we would find the bell. :rotfl:

Bless your little DS3's heart! I bet this will be a day they'll remember for a long time. You get warm and cosy and I hope you all have a good weekend, R x.

Kids have been in bed 25min they have been little beasts tonight. Actually, DS has been a git all afternoon. So much so, I told him he wasn't allowed his party bag until tomorrow, and only if he wakes up in a better mood.

DD hasn't really been a moo, but I just spend all my time putting her on the loo and taking her off again. She says she wants it then doesn't do anything. But she has had just one pair of pants all day!

So, an early night. And I might insist on naps tomorrow. I think they are both overtired with the icky tums.

Then I've just had a quick tidy round and eaten a bar of chocolate :o watching strictly.

  • Started off OK on my first flying week managed levels 1 and 2 on Monday and Tuesday.

After that i went down with a cold and was feeling far too sorry for myself to do more than level 1 on Wednesday and Thursday. Yesterday and today I did nothing so hope to do a bit more tomorrow.

I will stay with it as it's the most I've done in ages:rotfl:and I did some ironing and decluttering at the start of the week:j

    Evening ladies

Have done some decluttering of cash today. Needed to get over yesterday (thanks for the positive messages) so did some Christmas shopping, bought cards as well so might even write some in a min if I can find my list which will be the first time I have written them before the last posting date in Dec.

Big hugs to those still suffering especially Dusty, that was an unearthly time you were up this morning.

Flying today has consisted of chucking out half a manky pineapple from the fridge so I know what I am doing tomorrow, and at least I will be in a more positive place to do it.

Well done, love and huggles to all xx
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Thanks Narc0lepsy - I saw that option, but as I was having trouble opening the "Welcome Pack" attachment, I just put them into any old box and wasn't convinced they would collect it without proper labels, so I've done a home made job and thought it better that I see the courier face-to-face in case there were problems. I think I'm going to put a notice on the back door telling him it's in the shed though, as we live in a farmhouse with thick walls to the rooms and don't always hear people knocking at the door (no doorbell) and I really need to get "flying" today with the hoover and stuff. Do you use boxes or envelopes? Does it matter if you just use any old envelope/box?

I've only used them once, and I just used any old box I had lying around; I think it was a photocopier paper box from work and I just cut the sides off to size.

  • I would never have thought of using Mr Sheen, Valli so will give that a go next time.

Question for everyone. I always wash all my bathroom fittings/tiles/chrome etc., with a wet cloth and whatever product is to hand, and then have to go over it all again with a microfibre cloth to get rid of all the water marks that dry on in order to make it all shiny and smear free. No wonder I hate doing the room as basically, I am going over it twice. What "obvious" pearls of wisdom am I missing so that I can do it all in one fell swoop?

    TMD xx

Might help, but then again might not.....but I did a similar full scale overhaul on my main bathroom today.

I took my trug in.....Put loo cleaner round the bowl and left it while I got on with rest of the room. I put a generous helping of limescale remover in the centre of big square sponge cloth, then centred the cloth on the limescale encrusted bath mixer tap - securing with a double wrapped rubber band (rubber bands are my new best friends :D:D:D) to leave for the obligatory 10 minutes.....

squirted homeb@se mould & mildew into the shower door runners and left an old toothbrush next to it to remind me not to cross-contaminate cleaning products

wet big square sponge cloth and put c!f cream on - wiped over outside of shower doors and handles - and LEFT the smeary cream on for the recommended 5 minutes - while I went back to the limescale bath tap, clean that off, then repeated with more limescale remover and rubber-banded up the sink tap

As mould remover had then had recommended time, I climbed inside shower with tooth brush and scrubbed clean, then showered the residue away. Then I put more c!f on the sponge and the LEFT the smeary cream on the inside of the shower and handles, while I rinsed away the cream on the outside, and buffed dry with a towel.

I showered off the inside of the shower doors and sprayed with a leave it Shower Spray that means it dries clear - not one stray mark.....then I went round the whole bathroom tiles with my c!f leaving each section for 5 minutes a time before rinse wiping.

Then I did bath and sink - 5 minutes seems to be the magic number, then mirrors, splash back, cupboard doors, then loo last of all, before a quick mop and shut the door behind me :D:D:D

Beautifully clean bathroom lasted an hour til DD2 turned up filthy and soaked to the skin, with 2 filthy friends who all wanted to get cleaned up before going on to a party :mad::mad: not a happy bunny
The cold never bothered me anyway
  • Will update weekly list tomorrow.....going to turn in and watch some TV - hugs/sticks/spoons help yourselves :)

What a lot of nasty bugs there are around at the moment; I've finally got a voice back - albeit extremely croaky - after losing it for 4 days. Peaceful house indeed but drove me nuts. Luckily it didn't turn into a streaming cold, but raging headache/sore throat/sleeping sickness for 5 days. Hopefully it has another day to recover before I go back to work - missed 2 days last week (I only work 3) which I hate doing. But as a 1:1 tutor there isn't much I can do if I can't talk!!

Anyway, much of this afternoon was taken up at a class learning how to make a Christmas wreath for the front door - rolling moss, wiring up little bundles of foliage etc. I loved it and I'm really pleased with the result. I've ordered more moss and wiring so I can make more for presents. Should have put it on my list - can I do that retrospectively?

This morning I managed to do a bit of tidying in the lounge as guests to dinner tomorrow - have already cooked the dinner so it can develop a good flavour overnight (chilli). I will be honest and say that my bf helped quite a bit.

Fed birds - gosh they know it's winter don't they? I need to fill one of the feeders every 3 days! Also fed indoor plants (Christmas Cactus and Cyclamen starting to bloom).

Not much else really; not as much as I'd planned (no surprise there) other than I'm ploughing through holiday photos to make an album for my mum for Christmas - we got a last-minute half price cruise in August. Needs to be done but it's still a housework avoidance task.

Get well all you poor germ-ridden ones.
