TMD xx
I use a microfibre cloth and a Fla$h type liquid in a spray bottle. Apparently you can use microfibre cloths without any chemicals but in my experience you have to rub quite hard to get rid of the build up of soap residue in the shower, bath or sink and stuff around the hob and kitchen sink, and whenever anything seems like hard work, I'll always try and find an easier way of doing it.
You're not supposed to use harsh chemicals for microfibres, but I don't know what harsh really means in that context - Aj@x? bleach?. I bought a two Fla$h spray bottles a couple of years ago and I've been refilling them ever since with stuff I get from Wilkins0n's for 15p. The combination makes everything absolutely sparkle. I give the damp cloth a really light misty squirt with the chemical and then set to. I don't rinse it with any degree of vigour, just a quick splash rinse, and no-one's complained yet.Better is good enough.0 -

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong Honey Bear. I blitz every surface in sight with loads of cleaner, leave it for 10 mins or so whilst it gets to work, and then come back to it and attack it with a wet cloth and a big rinse. So although I can put less elbow into it, perhaps I'm over-soaking everything? Hmm. Will give your way a go next week.
Thanks.

Just realised I missed taking DS1 to the chiropodist yesterday, will have to ring and apologise on Monday.
DS3 is a right foul mood.
Just doing a little pottering sorting out some paperwork.
So DS3 is starting to feel better then? Don't you just love 'em?:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Hope you are all looking forward to the lists next week as I will be putting some extra Christmassy things on them, seeing as we are a month away now.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo _pale_Narc0lepsy wrote: »Hi, I'm a newbie. I think the idea is great but worried I'll spend more time reading the forum than actually doing the lists and stuff. I find forums very addictive! Anyway, I'm currently pleased with myself for losing 6lb mainly by using an on-line site to record everything I eat; the thought of having to 'own up' to everything I try and shove into my mouth gives me just enough incentive to resist quite a bit. Low on willpower, me.
So, I thought as I like IT perhaps this would be a good incentive to de-clutter and do some housework. My main problems are:
1. I don't actually hate housework; I just prefer reading, looking up all sorts of interesting stuff on the internet.....and anything except housework really. It's just low on my list of priorities. I just don't notice.
2. Despite teaching organisation skills for a living, I don't actually apply it to my home. My family would say I'm untidy. My workmates would say I'm organised and good at processes.
3. I'm a really good starter but a hopeless finisher. As an example, this time last year, I made a humungous effort to clear out my home office so it could be decorated in time for Christmas. I threw away loads of stuff, went through all paperwork etc, and the room was decorated. BUT I didn't set up enough 'systems' to maintain what I'd newly organised. I wanted it to get to the stage where it would be easy to maintain, and I'd like walking into the room. FAILED.
Anyway that's quite enough of a rambling introduction. Maybe just writing it down will spur me on to doing something. I could probably have done a 10 minute blitz somewhere instead of writing this.....
Welcome!! I think we may be twins... :rotfl:skint_breeder_5 wrote: »Valli's quote of "Don't put it down, put it away!" really hits home with me now.....

Hi there. Just a quick update as STILL full of this cold/flu/viral type bug! I am so fed up - have missed so much this week, and still not better. Still streaming, coughing, sweating etc etc. The only bonus is that I've lost over 5lbs as don't have much appetite - so I should look good in that silver cat-suit when I'm flying again!
Thank you for any good wishes - but I'm sorry to hear so many are suffering; Dusty, LameWolf, Wendywitch, the little Moos, and I know lots of others - here are some get well wishes from me.
I did have a mad half-hour today (felt a bit better for a time) and S&S both bathroom and kitchen, dusted through and mopped conservatory and kitchen floors, also put away some washing and sorted some mags. Thought I was on the mend, but been bloomin' coughing again for over and hour.
OH still walking next door's dogs, mainly in the rain, and has done shopping and meals. I did sort through some Christmas lists and ordered some stuff online plus more T@@@o goods, as will send friend some more groceries etc.
Well, it's nearly SCD time (hurrah) so bye for now! R x0 -

Wishing you well too, sounds like we have the same bug, when you start coughing do you then start slurping as well :rotfl: I've been up most of the day today but only pottering and doing paperwork, to the sofa for the rest of the evening for me.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Evening all, well i've had an exciting morning helping at the elf thing. DS3 was a picture when santa came in and piped up that he had been bad because he lost his list and lost his bell from his hat. Santa of course said he could write another list and we would find the bell. :rotfl:
Came home to find MIL had lit the fire, bless her. I was dreading the house being cold.
Flying wise all clean clothes have been put away, Kitchen table has been cleared, oil put into tank (enough to keep me going over the weekend), all socks paired up, livingroom tidied and more washing on.
Plan now is to start getting kids to bed, i'd like to get a good bit done in my bedroom tonight but it's so cold in there. Think i'll hoke out the heater from the attic, hopefully it works.
Hope all poorlies are feeling better really soon.“Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it.”0 -
