Aww, Dragon, don't cry. Welcome back, btw.:o Just start by clearing one seat's worth of sofa, and tell Dr Dragon there will be terrible repercussions if anything else appears on the cleared bit. Tel him you'll set the Wolf on him, if necessary.;) How's the Furry Dragon, these days?:o

Thank you LW, I had a go at the sofa and the only things of mine on there now are my handbag and the magazine I am currently reading, all the other bits are Dr Dragons (although could be said to be mine as they are to fix my computer! That is the reason I can't clean the desk as I have the screen and keyboard of the currently very sick desktop on the desk and as well as this I have the laptop *sigh*).

The Ddraig Blewog is very well thank you, currently curled up on the other sofa cushion :rotfl:, it's not a bad life for a Cairn Terrier!

Well my 1st posting, not counting yesterday's rambling introduction. I can't say I've achieved fantastic things, but there was a bit of planning involved! I had a guitar lesson at lunch time; normally I go to the gym first and do a couple of classes, have a coffee then go to lesson which is over the road from the gym. However, a) needed diesel which I have to go to another town to get and b) like so many of you, I've been grappling with cough/cold etc all week and didn't think leaping about at the gym would be the best plan. So....gathered library books up, went to library then supermarket and got diesel before guitar lesson. Feel a bit smirky to have got supermarket out of the way.
Can I list as a separate achievement that I unpacked bags and made a flower arrangement of some reduced-price lilies (having friends to dinner on Sun so at least the room should smell nice from flowers if not from polish!!).
Also cleared the last 3 items from a clutter magnet, the kitchen table. And wiped it with a cloth.
Put a load of washing on and just hung it up (not outside as more monsoons forecast).
I live in hope that I'll achieve a bit more by the end of the day, but I suppose it's a start. I did get as far as copying the weekly list out, with the intention of putting it in my 'task list' on the computer so it makes me feel guilty whenever I turn screen on........but I haven't got round to that yet!
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Narc0lepsy if you havent already id advise using a tissue to pick out the pollen covered stamens from the lily flowers if they brush against clothing or fall and scatter their dust on the table below they are swines for staining.

eaten a frog which involved pairing a huge bag of odd socks
got another load of washing dry and a 2nd load out its actually quite nice weather here - but will be bringing it all in just incase it tips it down over night

Swept up back garden so plasterer could get water from outside tap without slipping on leaves/moss
Put one load of washing away on a very go slow -
Spent lots of time playing trucks and "pretend" with DS to keep him out of the way of wet plaster :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Cleaned up after the plasterer - including splatters on venetian blinds :mad::mad: (regulars are used to seeing mad faces after venetian blinds :rotfl:)

Going to *try* and do some bathroom stuff as all I managed was a quick S&S and fling the laundry out of the basket out of the main bathroom before plasterer asked to use it phew

anyone fancy a quick HH cleaning at 5.30?
The cold never bothered me anyway

Kids getting supper and then to bed. We're all gonna be dressed as elves tomorrow, i'm not looking forward to it but the kids should have a blast.

Really need to get the charity stuff sorted for next friday, so far i only have 2 mags to go in the goodie bags. :o

    Evening flying squadron

Been at work all day and am completely shattered now. OH just taken kids to Youth Club so a couple of hours peace until we go to collect them at 9.

I'm expecting a courier tomorrow to come and collect my box for musicMagpie so I'm going to go upstairs and [STRIKE]seal it all up and label it. [/STRIKE] They said they'd be here between 8am and 8pm, so looks like a day waiting for them to call in which case I may be able to tackle the list. Quite happy to be waiting around tbh as it means I can get on top of things, plus DS doesn't have a football match tomorrow, so all in all, quality time at home.

Hope everybody is well. We're expecting high winds overnight here and we have tall trees at the end of the drive - I hope everything is still standing in the morning.

Going to condense my list now so I don't feel overwhelmed tomorrow.

    Monday - kitchen and hallway
    DONE
Tuesday - Master Bedroom and Landing
    DONE

    From Valli
dust/vacuum or wash all light shades (pendant AND lamp) - a paintbrush makes an EXCELLENT duster for fabric-covered shades; glass shades really shine if washed in soapy water, rinsed and left to dry.

    Wednesday - Living Room Stairs
    Level Two
Drag out what furniture you safely can and hoover behind, dust the skirtings whilst you are at it
    Dust the mantle/coffee table
    Level Three
    Hoover the stairs
Test your smoke alarms, ensure you have a spare battery now so that you don't need to remove one and not replace it.

    Extras
Are you ready for when it snows, salt (or cat litter), frozen milk, torch and batteries, hot water bottles etc in case of power outage.

    Do budgets for coming fortnight
    Start making sister's Christmas present
Create letterheaded paper and compliment slips for business

Thursday - Bathroom and downstairs loo/ensuites
    DONE

    Friday- whatever you fancy

    DONE

I may find my mojo after another cuppa
