Thinking of you in the interview at this moment, Kazmeister. Good luck - I hope it all goes your way.

As I was typing this, the company connected with the co*k up with the carpet washer phoned, the lovely H from their Customer Service Department. She has apologised and I am satisfied that they have taken the whole catastrophy seriously. They have also refunded the full value of the entire order - machine and chemicals, so I couldn't ask them for any more. I think, in the end, they have behaved well and she is going to look into the areas of my complaint letter that made the original problem worse as it progressed. .

What a brilliant result, Honey Bear!!!!!!!!! :T

Skint Breeder, your energy and organisation put some of us to shame. I am always amazed at how long your lists of achievements are. Do you type as fast as you do everything else, or is it just a welcome excuse to sit down for a few minutes?

I hope everyone travels safely this weekend. Going by train across the Midlands yesterday, there was such a lot of flooding: the water was flowing back out of Rutland Water, yet a year ago the levels were extremely low. I even saw swans swimming on what was a field last time I went that way, and the seagulls are very confused by all the new lakes.

We have beautiful sunshine and blue sky here this morning, and all the birds have been taking advantage of the calm and are making up for lack of food yesterday by visiting our feeders en masse. So have the squirrels - we have a family of 4 that keep us amused with their antics and are totally unafraid of us until we open an outside door, then they scarper.

Most of the oak leaves got blown off the trees in the wood next to our garden yesterday, but the wind must have been blowing in the right direction for us because our lawn is remarkably clear. It won't take long to clear the grass, and I never bother about clearing the leaves that land on the flowerbeds - saves mulching!

I have sold my 2 large items on eB@y for more than I paid for them so we now have a space in the garage, space in the grandchildren's room and money in the bank. As a result of these sales I have also taken an executive decision not to wait to take some heavy books to my godson in Germany until we fly out to visit the family around Easter time but instead to splash out on a courier parcel service which is about 1/3 the price of normal post for big parcels. I've also got a dozen spiral bound A4 books to go back to an organisation that I used to work for in Germany, and they can be sent the same way too. I am a flylady, I *will* declutter! :D

So now that I've finished another :coffee: I will get on with packing the gigantic parcel that has to be posted. The other item is being collected tomorrow morning :) This afternoon I am going into town to pick up an order and get my hair cut. Yet another week has flown past and I have achieved more than I really expected to, which is a good feeling. Hopefully my GUAG will stay with me for the next few weeks.

(((Hugs))) to all who need them, for whatever reason.
GWS wishes to all poorlies. Please look after yourselves - you are precious and deserve lots of TLC (even if you have to give it to yourself).

And Natty, do as pigpen says - you know it makes sense!

    Thanks very much appreciated :T

    Good luck Kazmeister

Please to hear that your complaint has been taken seriously Honeybear :j I can't bear companies that take your cash then don't give you the service afterwards

    Hi all

I'm pleased I did the spare room early this week, knowing Dylan's luggage and the kitchen trolley would need to be stored in there (the latter to make room for Dylan's bed) so I can have a reasonably easy day today.:o

Kazw – re the flooding; I'm just not convinced “modern building technology” will ever make it OK to build on a flood plain.

Natty it's ages since we've seen a sparrowhawk; we occasionally get one, but not as a regular. Enjoy your new visitor!:o

Dusty I may need new glasses – I first read your post as DS1 picking up a chick” :rotfl:

    Honey Bear YAY! Result!:T

Uh, oh, just seen the time; I'd better see if I can throw together a sandwich, and see if Dylan will wake up long enough to go for a little walk.:o

Iona, you have got me banged to rights :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: it is a welcome excuse to sit down, but years of working in call centres means fast typing is a habit.

When I was doing paid stuff, I would be on the money and get stuff done asap, but when I walked in the house it was like a tornado had struck and I didn't know where to start, so apart from food and laundry and pushing the hoover around once in a while I did next to nothing (for shame :o) . I am a terrible procrastinator even now for housework, so making sure I come on here and record what I have done every day (or at stupid o'clock as often is the case :rotfl:) makes me HAVE to do something - go back 7 or 8 weeks, I would have lots of hours F@ceBooking and £bay sniping and purchasing to show for it, and not much else :o:o:o

Valli's quote of "Don't put it down, put it away!" really hits home with me now.....If I see something out of place, if I put it away there and then, then its GONE, and I don't waste time and energy thinking about it twice or invariably SIX or SEVEN times before actually doing it - I would never have ignored a task at the paid stuff 6 or 7 times, so I have just adjusted my mind set.....

waking hours I have in abundance :D:D:D to think, lurk, f@cebook and post here, but energy and pain free hours are getting shorter by the day, so I must turn the cattle prod on myself occasionally to get started :o

talking of which I must get some lunch on the go - :p

my one in the shed is too heavy for me to manoeuvre in my *ahem* all out front situation - went into Mr T this morning, picked up a light weight plastic one with nice wide shovel - price £4 - now in the porch with salt.

    HTH macpep!

Ideal, thank you!!! I was going in there anyway as you get £5 off next £40 shop when you spend £20.00:money:

    Good afternoon!

Well, we have had no grot out of either child since they went to bed last night! Hurrah! They are both eating bits and bobs too, and DD bottom is fine and she is back in pants.

Anyway, mum called and said we are forecast storms this weekend, so since we were in all day yesterday and it's sunny (but freezing) today, I thought we'd go out.

So we went to home bargains and bought an extending snow shovel (£3.99) and the kids chose a Christmas dressing up outfit each. We got some more potty sweets to as we seem to have gone through a tub in a week (that's a lot of wee wee lol). And I stocked up on kitchen paper after using a whole roll yesterday

We then went to the park as I had the scooters in the boot, and they found the filthiest puddle to run through (no wellies :o) so we have two pairs of trainers and two pairs of trousers that need a wash. They had fun though, and DD had her first al fresco wee (oops).

Beggar all flying done though. Now watching jingle all the way...

  • I have a load of washing on a hot wash and am about to put it in the TD.

I also had a rejig of the kitchen cupboards to be more organised and cleaned the surfaces in the kitchen. Homemade curry and rice for a late lunch today.

I need to hoover downstairs as the cats have knocked the bl**dy cat litter all over the place  and I need to clean the bathroom too.

Dylan gets a mini-biscuit or two when he's out on his walks - they're little tiny bone-shaped biscuits, and his owners specified they're for use on walks. I give him one of those when he poos, and another for standing still for me to pick up after him.:D

Aww, Dragon, don't cry. Welcome back, btw.:o Just start by clearing one seat's worth of sofa, and tell Dr Dragon there will be terrible repercussions if anything else appears on the cleared bit. Tel him you'll set the Wolf on him, if necessary.;) How's the Furry Dragon, these days?:o
