Just popping in to say thank you all for thinking of us today, we are doing ok, didn't sleep too well but managing to get through the day. Am sat here doing a bit of sewing (and my mum is here knitting) with a nice festive fragranced candle I the corner. DH did love candles.
The sheer number of you who've mentioned us in your posts is humbling, and my thoughts go out to all of you too, as we've all lost someone we loved, haven't we? (be that two-legged or four-legged).Bossymoo

HM pizza needs constructing now, so I'm off to the kitchen.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thanks for the congrats for DS3. He is in the link scenes, the thread which holds all the year groups together. They come on between each year group whilst the scenes are being reset and continue their story leading into the next year group if that makes sense. Great news is just regular modern day clothes for their part so no costume. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Even worse mum now as I am going to shout DS1 and Ds2...kitchen bin needs emptying, recyling needs doing and piles of ironing I have just done need taking upstairs...love child labour xx
I am with you Mummyof5, with flybaby 5 on the way, I do have to get the cattle prod out :rotfl:....I always say no point having child slaves if they won't do any work.......if you don't teach kids how to do chores (even if I am/they are not super organised at doing them:D) you are disabling them for the future, in the same way as if you refused to teach your children to read and write they will not be able to fully function in adult society :mad::mad:
DD1 may have the teenager lazy gene as I call it, but I know when starvation gets the best of her at Uni she can go to supermarket and get real food and cook it without giving herself food poisoning - now teenagers, Uni and alcohol poisoning.....well that would be another story!;)The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
I am all for child labour.. they are great for a variety of skivvy tasks I would otherwise have to do.. my 8 and 10 year olds love to clean things.. a cloth each a bowl of soapy water and they are happy for ages!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Had to but in. Mine don't like to do anything. I keep trying in hope...
I have purchased half of decathl-n for DS1 ski trip. I had a school discount voucher but could only use 1x. I have had cars cheaper than all this. It is chance in lifetime time.
FC' store has been shuffled to see where we are.
Lots of phonecalls made.
Progress day attended, DS1 are nearly on target.

Level Two
[STRIKE]Shine a mirror or window[/STRIKE] including mirrors in ensuite
[STRIKE]Hoover the floor and skirting boards [/STRIKE]
Level Three
Bin bag dance or HHTidying- nothing out of place in here so far..cleaning trug is back downstairs in its place..but the night is young and DS is awake
[STRIKE]Wipe a window sill or two[/STRIKE]
From Valli
[STRIKE]dust/vacuum or wash all light shades (pendant AND lamp) - a paintbrush makes an EXCELLENT duster for fabric-covered shades; glass shades really shine if washed in soapy water, rinsed and left to dry. [/STRIKE]
Extras
[STRIKE]Light a candle and think of our lovely Bossy and the little moos. Spare a thought for all those missing somebody special from their lives and show those still here just how much they mean to you.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Extreme couponed [/STRIKE]£26.50 out of Mr T on their 50p off a litre campaign :money: and got all the stuff put away in a record 15 minutes
[STRIKE]re-polyfilla'd [/STRIKE]the very deep holes flat in downstairs loo ready for plasterer on Friday
[STRIKE]polished [/STRIKE]all flat surfaces in master bedroom
[STRIKE]put away bundles[/STRIKE] for DD1 to take back to Uni
[STRIKE]unwanted emails[/STRIKE] deleted off main account, and de-cluttered my y@hoo account for freegling - put a bid in for item (unsuccessful, but will try and be a bit quicker next time!)
[STRIKE]decluttered purse[/STRIKE] of old receipts/out of date coupons - found a receipt from 3 months ago where I forgot to get Mr T's clubcard points - got added at Mr T customer services - also found some vouchers for £5 off £65 spend at Mr M, which had already expired- not too sad though as it is unusual for me to blow £65 in one shop at Mr M
[STRIKE]collected bundle of "clean" used carrier bags[/STRIKE] in car for extra "green" points AND put back in boot of car after today's trip for next time
[STRIKE]organised "nappy wrapper bins"[/STRIKE] in ensuite and main bathroom - although DS has been dry day and night for months, he has had a few relapses recently, but the bins have stayed in place for used razors, cotton buds, AF sundries and general unrecyclable grott :eek::eek: I prefer that they can be twiddled around and stop DS routing around in them
Today, I basically put 5 used carriers in the bottom of each nappy bin so as it gets nearly full, I can just cut off the "sausage" shaped mess straight into the waiting carrier, give it a quick S&S inside and out, line it with a waiting carrier, knot the handles on the full carrier and dump it straight in main bin outside.....I always used to carry the whole thing downstairs and then tried to decant the "sausage" shaped liner into the kitchen bin, but they would always spin and the "sausages" would half unravel - but fly-baby bump means if I can't carry it downstairs and I can't fling it to the bottom of the stairs SAFELY, then I have to find a new way of doing things - but I think this one is definitely a keeper as far as new habits go
Had de-cluttered two pillows back to DD2 room, that I borrowed on extended loan the other night to try and prop me up so I could get more sleep (she has 8 pillows on her bed :eek::eek::eek:, so she isn't hard done by) as they are feather pillows and I think I must have inhaled a bit of eider down fragment as I have a tickly throat for 2 nights now that I just can't get rid of, so only 30 minutes sleep at about 6 am this morning.....how I am functioning, I do not know
Right, hopefully, in the nicest possible way, I won't see you flyladies and flygents until a sensible hour tomorrow - hugs to all, and an extra big gentle hug for Bossy and the little moosThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -

They are called chores for a reason and it isn't because it is fun! I live here, they live here and the mess is ours so we clear it up..
