Another thing how many people come on here just to read other posts?? loads. If they just happen to come across this and read it then it's helped.

    Its 'scam' on idiots
So is your position that idiots are fair game and should not be warned of scams?

Anyway, it is not a 'scam on idiots', it's a scam that is likely to affect the old or vulnerable.
there are many scams out there, the type of people who fall for them will find the 'warnings' after the fact.
The idea that someone would fall for anyone claiming to be from X company just because they are on the phone, means there is little that can be done to save them.

That is utterly irrelevant. It's still a scam that is being perpetrated on people and just because in your opinion you'd need to be an idiot to fall for it does not mean a warning is not worth promulgating.
If you really want to get into it,we can go back to why the OP posted it as if it had actually happened to them.

It happened to her, she checked it out, and then posted the warning she found here on the 'Praise, Vent, and Warning forum.

That seems entirely laudable to me. It's a pity that a few rather pathetic specimens with nothing better to do are intent on making the OP feel bad just to bolster their own sad little egos.

how many old and vulnerable will be reading this type of post on a forum?
it would have slid into nothing without people posting on it. so perhaps you should be thanking those with the ability to compose a post without name calling.
Perhaps people need testing before being allowed to have a phone

Don't dish out what you can't take and if you nothing nice to say may I suggest you keep it to yourself don't attack others and expect them to stay quiet.

There are lots of idiots use this site, some like me make spelling mistakes, others make mistakes with their grammar.

I hate repeating myself but i was trying to post something nice by reminding everyone else that we've all made errors and perhaps we should stop having a go at you. If you can't see that you deserve everything that is thrown at you.

Maybe you were trying to be helpful, but I, also, took the 'red faced' comment as turning what would otherwise have counted as as a defence into an attack.

The OP has done nothing wrong and nothing for which she needs to feel embarrassed. So saying that she is probably red faced is just reiterating your opinion that what she did was wrong. Hence it's not really a defence.

We've had a laugh at the OPs expense, and i'm sure she must be sitting there with a red face this morning. So don't you think we should move on and find someone else to have a pop at now.

That's you being nice oh sorry my mistake :rotfl:

And how many people reading this forum have old and vulnerable friends, relatives and acquaintances?
perhaps you should be thanking those with the ability to compose a post without name calling.

It's the mark of a complete idiot that they get all self righteous about someone calling someone a name but are quite happy for people to be ridiculed and belittled in other ways.
Perhaps people need testing before being allowed to have a phone

Could you be any more sanctimonious if you really tried?

Maybe non but there are plenty of people like me who will warn the old and vulnerable people within their family, however they have to be aware of it in the first place to be able to warn others.

As for your idiot comment there are many like my mum who maybe through no fault of their own are not as quick minded as they used to be it does not mean they need to be tested to have a phone and they do not deserve to be scammed. Your comment is down right rude and offensive.

I'm sorry Azari but it's certainly not meant as an attack, it was meant as it was written, That is ... we do something wrong and we get embarrassed when it's pointed out to us, and when we're embarrassed we may blush. I was trying to take the pressure off the Op, and then when i logged back i had half expected that she'd post a little "Thank you Sam"
But i suppose i expected that because when people have backed me when others are laughing at me, i thank them.

It's always the case that different people will read things in different ways.

If you did have the OP's best interests at heart and were trying to protect her from this absurd onslaught, then thank you.
