  • We have a small family and when the rugrats came along we all agreed to.only buy for them. Which is great but I don't get nowt for Xmas! Lol, do secret santa at work tho so here goes.

I don't like smelly gift sets like a shower gel, bodyspray etc, some shower gels are sooo perfumy! Euch. Also don't want booze as I rarely drink and spesh not fizz as we got like 10 bottles for our wedding! Also don't like clothes except hats n scarves or socks!

Would love kindle vouchers. Yes I know I work in a library but i do love my kindle too! Little make up sets are nice. I like fun costume jewellry too. Oh and I have a tragic weakness for jigsaw puzzles!

Things that are too old for me!

Yes, I appreciate it when people don't buy me smellies as they know I can't use them but I would actually prefer to receive a pretty gift set I can't use than something realy old fashioned and dull.

I also hate cook books but like cooking so I get a lot of those but all my recipes come offline or are made up. I would love to receive anything else related though - cake tins, oven gloves, cookie cutters etc!

    I'm 26.

Anything that would end up sitting in a cupboard, like my mum always use to get me a little puzzle or something every year. Its played with an hour on Christmas Day and maybe half hour Boxing Day and thats it!

I'm not too fussy when it comes to presents, but I'd rather have Amazon vouchers than iTunes vouchers, because of the DRM protection on the songs you download on itunes.

I'm happy to receive toiletry boxsets, sometimes it's good trying new things. Once my dad got me a boxset of olay facial care - had cleanser and the radiance moisturiser in it. I didn't think much of it when I got it, but when I started using the moisturiser I loved it! Still use it to this day!

With our family, we usually do a list now and work off that. It saves a lot of time and money, and there's still a surprise, because you dont know what they'll get off the list or what style or variety (if it comes in a variety, like jewellery, clothes, chocolates.etc)

I can't even stand outside the shop or it gives me a headache. When I go to Bluewater I can't wait for anyone on the floor directly above the shop either, as the smell is so strong. The smell wafts up to the balcony above.
  • Best gifts -
Bird feeder with seeds and bird identification book
    Local history books
Leglifter -mobility aid that's cheap and fantastic for getting into a car/ bed
    homemade jam

    Worst gifts actually received -
Book of household hints (not romantic guys)
Scented candles that smelled so horrid I had an asthma attack
Toilet cleaning kit - not given as a joke either! Just said thank you but was fuming as my bathroom was sparkling!!!

OH's Mum always gets us a box of awful chocolate each. Made the mistake of saying they were nice the first year she gave them them to us and been getting them for 16 years now!

Similar to others my Mum gets stuff that we will not use, she likes to give lots but it usually end up quantity not quality. Have started asking for money towards specific things.

I don't want anymore scarves or gloves, I think I have a set in every colour now, I don't use body lotion very often so still have stack of it, I do like bubble bath though.
Again no nik naks or dust collecters as they are know in our house, also no short nighties (mil favourite!)
I don't like bags or purses as I like to choose my own, also no make up bags, i have loads, don't wear much make up, and never go anywhere to need one!
No chocolate as we have more than enough in the house over Chistmas as it is. Dm does buy me the miniture Green and Black bars every Christmas which I love and never share.
Slippers are always welcome as are socks, vouchers or money.

You're not the only ones! I can't walk past a Lush shop without gagging slightly! :rotfl:
  • Anything with a fragrance in it or skin care related is on the 'No' list for me because I have allergic reactions to so many things and am very particular about what goes anywhere near my skin.

Clothing unless it is something I have specifically asked for is also a 'No'...I'd much rather have a gift card for a shop I like and be able to go pick out and try something on.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
  • i like to get chocolate(not with nuts in), rose wine or vodka, have asked for some archers this year lol, socks pjs and slippers are welcome, amazon vouchers
