My Virgin services were cut off yesterday and an engineer visited to pick up the Tivo box and the superhub.

Got a note from plusnet to advise that they are now offering a truly unlimited fibre package (no throttling at any time of the day), so I've signed up to that.
  • I understand that Virgin media is hiking their prices up soon but I saw a leaflet sent to my mum and it said if she paid something like £100 (may have been £120 not sure) for the line rental up front for the year it realises a saving of something like £60 (about £5 a month) so as such fends off the price hike (we for the year anyhow). She paid it and is now saving but I cant find the leaflet. Any advice on the MSE's please let me know;)

We've got broadband and a phone; I'll be cancelling the phone.

It doesnt fend off the price increase. As you still have to fork out the £120...

Yes it does. The £120 for 12 months was based on the old monthly rate. So it (in effect) is now an even better bargain with the pending increase, as this will lock down the existing rate until the package expires.

I got the email on the 5th Dec, do I only have 5th Jan before I can ring up to cancel?

4th Jan - and that's really risking refusal!

If they did not send you an invoice before debiting the funds I would be very surprised, did you log in and view your invoice online?

One disadvantage of no longer receiving paper post, I suppose.

Check your spam folder if you have paperless billing. It will have been sent in the form of an E-Mail.
