News articles stated some customers were experience 7% increases?

Mine is going up from £38.99 to £43.83 apparently - an increase of over 12%.

Yet another customer they will be losing. There is no excuse for such a price hike.
  • I phoned them about the price hike yesterday, not to cancel because everyone else is doing it too and I don't want freeview. The deal to pay up front for your line rental is still going and means that you can save £58 a year. Also, as I have paid the £120 up front I'll only be playing £24 a month which, although not really a saving, feels nicer. :)

Just an idea if someone wants to stay with virgin but try to nullify the damage of the extras.

They couldn't offer me anything decent, cancelled and retentions called, they couldn't offer anything cheaper so in the end cancelled TV and phone and going with Sky for TV as have a 50% off friends and family deal for them. Still staying with Virgin for broadband only as I can't cope going back down to 2MB now.

I have a letter dated Dec 2012, that's all. Does that mean I have until 31/12/12 or 30/1/13 to cancel all Virgin Media services??

    Please help all.

Just phoned about this price rise as just about out of the 30 days notice and was simply told that it affects everyone regardless of when the package was taken out.

Asked to exercise my right to leave without charge and the cancellation was booked in, didn't try and change my mind at all - suspect they have had a lot of this.

Will see if retentions phone back but otherwise will start investigating alternatives.
  • I'm a Virgin National customer - moved out of a cabled area and now have appallingly slow and unreliable ADSL in a street where I could get BT Infinity but was locked into a long contract - so this is great news for me!

However, on reading their "legal stuff" page - it appears that as a national customer I have to give them 30 days written notice - but there doesn't appear to be an address anywhere! Any ideas anyone?
