MSE News: Virgin Media to hike prices

Left Virgin earlier this year. Abysmal service. Problems with on demand and regular problems with broadband. Left after several unsuccessful months of complaining to them about faults. Very amateur.0

I pay £47 for Tivo and internet/phone. I had an increase earlier this year and I'm not putting up with another one.
I'll be leaving!Money money money.

Re: Virgin Airlines
Used to be one of the cheapest long haul companies around. I was one of Branson's greatest fans, until he and his empire started to get greedy. Now, rather than his flights being at the top of the list when you do a search for flights, his are at the bottom, KLM, Continental, AA., are way cheaper.
Virgin Broadband
It went down the pan when Virgin bought NTL. The sales support is brilliant, but when you complain as to why your broadband service has gone up from £10 per month to £20 per month, they say this, "If you don't like it Mr. R*****, then I will cancel you account now. I left it only to discover 6 months down the line the the price had gone up to £22.50 per month. I called them and was told, " Prices will be going up just over 10% per year, do you want me to cancel your account?"
I have now had enough of this greedy empire and its greedy profiteering owners! Many friends of mine are absolutely disgusted with this company and many have left. The only thing I am grateful for is that Virgin continue to still send me loads of junk mail for all their services (which I requested), why? Because each envelope goes straight into the recycle bin and ups my points with the local council so that I can get discounts off shopping and the Plusnet internet service. So a message for Virgin," No thanks, I don't want your services anymore, and thanks for the junk mail".0 -
We got al etter through the post saying that our bill will go up by £5.24 a month..
Pft. Disappointing. I am so fed up of Virgin anyway Tivo is pretty bad, constantly crashing. Our internet went out maybe 4 times in the past year, we had to twitter them to ask wth was happening.
Maybe Sky, or that freesat might be an option for TV and internet...will have to have a think0 -
I got the notice too. This is the 3rd price rise I've had and I've only been with them since January this year!0

Phone them up if you want detailed breakdown, but they should give people this anyway.0 -
This is no surprise surely , can anybody think of a company that isn't putting up their prices??0

last time they raised their prices I called them for a breakdown of the amount.
They couldn't make the numbers add up.
I'll await my letter this time, and see what it says, not exactly impressed as when I negotiated my contract last time it was 11% less than I am paying today....that's some price increase.0
