  • Any real justification or just another example of profiteering? Has the wholesale cost of sending signals down fibre optic cables risen?

Might be a good idea to go with the Line Rental Saver option now, while the price for that is still £10/month (in advance).
  • You didnt really think the increase in broadband speeds were actually free did you???

    Exactly my thoughts ;)

I'm wondering how this will affect me.. I renewed a contract for another 12 months in September for my L10 with £4 discount, so currently I'm paying £18.50 a month. Expected speed increase March - August 2013 ;)

MSE Helen writes " We have also asked whether Virgin will allow customers to exit their contract early, and are awaiting a response. We will update this story when we get confirmation"

VM have already said in the statement that is linked here that they will http://my.virginmedia.com/customer-news/articles/price-change/ways-to-save.html

My street isn't cabled, but if i was with Virgin i'd be mightily peeved!
  • I just received a bland notice from Virgin stating that the price of my "Virgin Media Services" will increase by £5.34 and don't provide any breakdown. Keeping it low key !!

We get excellent service from them and already get at £11 discount a month until December 13. Our utility company has decreased our dd by £24 a month so its the old swings and roundabout game.
  • !!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW DO I ESCAPE THIS? UNDER CONTRACT FOR ANOTHER 6 MONTHS AND MY ON DEMAND HARDLY EVER WORKS!!!!

We wanted to let you know that, from 1st February 2013*, the price of your Virgin Media services will increase by £3.24 a month. It's never nice when prices go up but it means we can continue to give you the best home entertainment and services.
