Well I must be the only person who didn't get this email. Perhaps as I didn't enter as would never go back to Barcelona after attempted pickpocket there. Also watched a programme the other night about all the scams in Barcelona so you may have got off lightly

Joking apart, I agree with Joe Cool, it is a mistake, it happens and I too feel so sorry for the poor person who pressed the wrong button.

For those of you who say you are "gutted" I am sorry but I can think of far worse things to be gutted at like being told you only have a short while to live, or a beloved family member has died. I am sorry but that is when you truly could feel gutted.

ahh I got one too likewise checked this website first and before I phoned my sister to tell her to pack realised we'd all got it, remember that feeling of thinking you'd won though and let that keep you going, well done and commiserations everyone!

lucky for me (scuse the pun) I only just checked my email and got them both together , sorry for you guys who had to wait must have been horrible, just seen there was over an hour between mails, bet someone at boots is feeling a bit sheepish!

Oh I'm so sorry for all who got those rotten emails. I think I would have been a bit suspicious at the 'dear customer' part, but that said, you really don't look a gift horse in the mouth, do you? I can't help being relieved I didn't enter this as I would have gutted.

I got one too had to be peeled from the ceiling at work with excitement ! It was a blow to find out I hadn't won but its the second comp in so many months that I've 'won' but not got anything from ! Hey ho more comps to be doing and one day I might win a holiday to barcelona or even better and will laugh about this !!

Read a wonderful post on Boots facebook page earlier that said "maybe instead of compensating you could add up all the prize costs for ALL of the winners and donate them to Children in Need"

Thought that was a lovely suggestion

Boots UK Hi Simon, you’re a mind reader! We really apologise for all the confusion and disappointment regarding the Barcelona competition. As much we’d love to send everyone to Barcelona, it’s really not possible. However, we wanted to let you know what we’re doing to say sorry.

There will be a second draw for anyone who originally took part in the competition, this prize draw will take place on the 19th of November. A further email will be sent with more information.

Additionally, and because we understand how let down you’ll be feeling, we’ll be adding a 1000 Boots Advantage Card points (that’s £10 worth) onto your card so you can treat yourself next time you’re in store. These points will be added automatically onto your card in the next 7-10 working days.

For those of you who don’t have an Advantage Card, you can nominate a friend or partner to receive these points on your behalf. For more information please see the further email we’ll be sending you.
