Got an email I won a trip to Barcelona, but...

It was a mistake and I feel sorry for the person that made that mistake; I fortunately checked MSE as soon as I got my WEM at lunch and saw a number of people saying they had won so my joy was very shortlived. That said, I was not impressed with the amount of time it took to issue an email pointing out the mistake, nor the content of the apology - might just as well have put "Ha, so you thought you won, tough". I'm not expecting anything, but a small gesture from V05 or even £1 Boots token would be appreciated, just by way of acknowledging that there was a huge mistake.

While I understand that mistakes happen (& lets face it, this is one hell of a mistake), I think that they should have responded a lot more quickly & sincerely. To let people believe that they have won an amazing holiday for 2 hours, then just send an email saying 'oops, no you haven't' is really not good enough.

Surely they realise that people would have gotten excited and started to make plans. The least they could do is apologise sincerely & maybe offer some points, or a tub of hair stuff as an apology. It would have been a nice gesture to their 'valued customers'.

I haven't even had a phone call yet.

Same here! I got all excited and told my husband, family and work colleagues only to be told Oops! Not pleased!

Yes apparently there were 9000-odd people who got those emails, luckily for me I'd not entered the competition but I can imagine how gutted I'd have been if I'd got those mails

Sorry to hear all these people have received this email, i would of been gutted if that was me but unfortunatley it does happen although maybe they should give something as a sorry, maybe some advantage points? And before people start having a go at me, saying that would hardly compensate it, it is just a suggestion
