Boots are now sending out emails to apologise. I have just received this response from them
"Dear valued customer,
We sincerely apologise, it appears that due to a technical error you have received an email stating that you have won a trip for two to Barcelona. We are sorry to say that this is not the case.
We apologise again for any inconvenience caused."0 -
Loving the 'valued customer' can't really complain, guess they ermm knew I don't shop in boots, or buy VO5 products, and got some minor revenge on me
loving the indignation over a simple human error, and people not waiting for the 'we will be in touch soon' before getting too excited/booking time off work

I worked in direct marketing almost all my life and I can't remember a c..k up like this before in terms of how many people must have been massively upset, coupled with the simplicity of the task of getting an email out to one person instead of thousands.
The agent must have had no checks in there and when I think of the probable damage to Boots customer relations........
The poorly devised "sorry" email just isn't good enough. It's what you'd expect when they get a price wrong on the web site.0 -

Anybody who says 'i want compensation' - id say go jump, you cant tell me that youve NEVER made a single mistake in your life..

If youd had to PAY to enter or go through some huge effort then maybe a small token would be in order, but it was a simple enter your details...
