I am eager to know if anyone has tried reclaiming charges from a finance company like yes car credit.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
Most outstanding Yes Car Credit debts have been sold on to various debt purchase vultures. As YCC no longer trades it is going to be tricky getting statements out of them, although their parent company, Provident Financial Services is still alive and kicking.0 -
I have a hire purchase with peugoet......I am currently 2 months behing which totals to £222 but they are chasing me for around £500 as they have added lots of late payment charges on.
Could I claim these back? I don't want them to hand me charges in cash, I just want them to wipe them off the amount I owe........
I owe lots of money out but I think if all these companies stopped charges we wouldn't get stuck in a whole as wuick and would be able to resolve our debt alot quicker.
Any advice???0 -
Hi there, was wondering if anybody could tell me whether i can use the same letters to claim back over the top charges from a finance company? They've added over £500 in charges for letters and phone calls over the last six months and it doesn't seem fair. In there contract it says they can charge what they like for letters but is that the case? Any help gratefully received.0

Ok i purchased a car on finance from vauxhall in 2002. I received a letter in march of 2006 stating "the agreement has now been concluded" and heard nothing more so assumed everything was done and dusted.
However, in december of 2006 i received a letter from Close credit management stating "we have been instructed by GMAC that the sum of £450 remains due for payment under your agreement with our client".
Firstly I would like to know how come, if i owe this, I received the letter of completion and secondly is it even legal since they never even tried to contact me between March and December instead going straight to a credit management consultant?
On another note I would like to know can I reclaim late payment charges from GMAC the same way I am with my bank?
I would be grateful of any advice on this matter as I am struggling to find any precedent on this site where anyone else has taken on a finance company and had any success.
Now I admit I was a serial offender but I believe the charges they levied were unlawful and especially the one after the agreement had been concluded.
I would assume its the same process but am unsure.
Thanks in advance,

I have taken it up with GMAC and they were none too helpful just saying that it was admin fees. If it is admin fees i just dont see how they can apply them 9 months after the agreement ended, in their own words "cancel any standing orders to avoid any overpayment".
Just seems ridiculous to me and because they put me onto a credit management company, does that mean that the reason i couldnt get a bank loan was due to that putting a mark on my credit score.
If thats the case then cant i have it removed if these charges are wrong?0 -
So still wondering if anyone knows for sure wether i can claim just like i can with my bank?0
