anyone else out there had any dealings with Black Horse?
ive had a personal loan with them (extortionate apr!) for a couple of years having split with my partner leaving me with a load of debts...
I prepaid the loan with a lump sum however know for a fact that a number of late payment charges were applied before hand. Having spoken to a advisor over the telephone he mentioned that there were at least 3 he could see totalling £75 - not the largest amount I know but its still £75 at least which I could claim back.
i wrote my letter to Black Horse requesting information within the 40 day period allowed and quite promptly received a letter detailing one, and only one, charge totalling £25!
Now I can speculate as to whose got it wrong here but what do I do? call them and ask for a correct list? Or do i take it that what they say is indeed correct???Finally getting my finances in order:jHSBC £2518.68 1st Letter 15/05/07, Acknowledged 23/05/07, LBA sent 06/06/07Capital One £1112 Request letter sent, 11/06/07 offer of 348 received, "ill have a part payment pls along with the rest" leter sentBlack Horse £25 supposedly?! - i think not! show me evidence!Halifax lBA sent 20/06, Rejection letter 22/06, Phoned for Reevaluation 25/06 ..the waiting starts0 -
i bought a product with a company 2 years ago and at the time it was a buy now pay 2006 kind of thing. if i hadnt paid the full amount by the end time then the payment went up to 800 pound or so, and that is what has happened
i have not kept up with payments very well and ive just checked the balance and although ive made about 10 payments of 24 pounds, they applied charges for every time i was late in paying...and my balance is ridiculously high
my question is can i get the penalty charges taken off?0 -

You can make a claim for them in just the same way you can against Credit Cards.Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -

You can claim in just the same way you can off Banks and Credit Cards.
All the same principles apply but you are looking for Late Payment Fees, Overlimit Fees, and Failed Collection Fees (bounced payments).Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
Hi
I have searched over the past few days for answers to this but no-one seems to have posted about GMAC 'Admin Charges' for car finance, only about GMAC mortgages.
I have been charged #15 for each letter they have sent me, which tells me that my payment is late. I tried to write to them a few months back and received the following reply.
Could anyone tell me if i have a right to these fees back, or if they simply don't fall under the same heading as credit card charges and bank charges.
Thanks
Surly a Default Notice fee is the late payment fee or none payment fee. Go for it! Its the same principle They can't argue it legally considering the 'Trigger Mechanism'
It does not cost £15 to print an automated letter, stuff it in an envelope, and frank the thing!Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
Apologies if this has been asked before. I did have a look through first few pages in this forum but couldn't find anything!
Does anyone know if the same process can be followed for car loan companies that have charged late payment fees and charges for phone calls, as per the bank process?
Any help much appreciated!
Many thanks.0 -
Hi guys,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this but had a look about and could not see anything.
Is it possible to reclaim charges on Car Finance agreements in the same way as you can with Banks, I dont see any reason why not but I may be missing something.
Any advice would be grate, many thanks
