It's OK saying about bank transfers and such but when you're not computer literate it's not so easy which is why they would still send cash. And yes it would be changed to euro. Whether it was cash, postal order or just a card, they should be doing more to stop items from being stolen. At least some !!!! would have had a good Christmas.
You can arrange a bank transfer over the phone.
Unless you have evidence to support your assertion, please stop accusing people of theft. Millions of items are handled by Royal Mail over the Christmas period, unfortunately some will go missing.0 -
Personally, when sending money in the mail, I always use cheques. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Iv just had a missing Parcel and I think the delivery driver signed for the item and delivered it somewhere else, the problem is that it’s a £600 item. I purchased a drone from eBay the seller sent item off as standard signed for. But I think the seller is fraudulent as they havnt replied to any of my messages and I think they have only sent a small sized envelope. Now the delivery driver has faked a signature and don’t know where they have posted it the tracking shows as signed for? What can I do?
I had few signed for items delivered 10min before and I have proof of the tracking online.
10 min later another postman apparently gets us to sign for another parcel but no one actually does
This is all on CCTV but Royal Mail are ignoring the footage?
I even took a picture of the distinct box of one of the items that was delivered by the first delivery driver with the tracking stamp on it that was delivered at the correct time that matches the CCTV
10min later the send delivery driver posts a few letters and doesn’t knock for a signature.
Where is the parcel gone?0 -

You don't have to be computer literate to go into your bank and do a bank transfer.0 -
7 years after the first post in this thread postpersons are still forging the recipients signature on "Signed for" parcels.
This has happened to me twice recently.
I understand that they are under time pressure but the have to scan the item anyway. It takes only seconds to ask for a signature. I was at home both times and both items were too big for the letterbox so he had to wait several seconds for the to answer the door anyway.
This can have serious consequences if the item is left outside your front door as one was with me just yesterday. Casual zero hours posties often leave items for me in the building lobby and don't even tell me they've done so.
I am annoyed but I don't want to get my regular postie in trouble as he's nearing retirement but this practise should stop. 7 years documented here but I'm pretty sure this started happening to me some 20 years ago. It now seems an entrenched practise. Not good enough.0 -

I have no problem with our postman doing this.
He trusts us so signs when we are not in.
It saves us so much hassle.0 -

and here's the problem. Cant win way or another.0 -
If you know your regular postperson and they know you and it's an informal agreement - win-win. My cousin is a farm manager - at one place he lived; postie would lean in through the open cottage window to leave post and also pick up any outgoing post to save them the long hike (short drive) to the village post box.
But it's not OK for the delivery operative to decide this unilaterally.I need to think of something new here...0 -
I am happy for my postie to sign on my behalf, he is going the extra mile to help me and I trust him. I don't trust couriers like Yodel."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
