I'm actually starting to think he just plays "lucky dip" when delivering our mail :rotfl: Its not like (for example) I get number 14s mail only. I might get a few letters for myself, one for number 34, one for the next again street.
He has signed for a recorded delivery item and put it through a door he thought was mine. RM's system showed it as delivered to my address correctly but obviously, it wasnt. Luckily the person was honest and brought it round the next evening.
You've just got unlucky and have a dozy postie, most are pretty good with checking/getting the post through the right doors and are generally helpful and put up with lots of dogs barking/having a go at them.
If your postie is getting so many letters wrong especially different streets it's worth having a word with him as it's happening loads elsewhere i guess. If it was just once in a long while/blue moon it's just a genuine mistake, these things happen and there would be no need to mention it really.
As you say luckily you and the other person are honest, thats good to hear!:j0 -
Does anybody realise that a signature at a delivery point means absolutely nothing? I have sent many parcels that have recieved a signature for which the customer later denies signing for it. Do you think there is a court case or something then where a signature expert determines this? It is rubbish and a rubbish service that doesn't carry any weight nor extra compensation over normal posting, namely £34.
It isn't tracked at any point other than in the post office and is carried with all other mail. You can get proof of posting for any mail for free.
People should send stuff by special delivery if they want proper accountability and insurance.0 -

I have mentioned this on here when people try and send stuff worth close on a thousand quid through the post for a couple of pound.
Good post, a lot of people seemed to of spent hours and hours on here moaning about the slightest things. each to their own I suppose.0 -
I got home from work today to find a signed for item pushed through my letter box, even though our house has been empty all day - so I assume the postman signed for it (the signature online is just a letter J). Unfortunately for the postie and for us he has signed for a letter for someone who no longer lives here - I'm certainly not happy about this as I would have turned the letter away had I been in, so I have complained to RM.
My main issue is that the previous occupier was in loads of debt and having googled the return address the letter is from a debt collector - so now they will take this as confirmation that this person still lives here. If the debt collectors come round I will not be pleased.
Will RM have to contact the sender to explain what has happened?0 -

Because that is who the sender purchases the product from.
So if someone bought a stamp from Tesco and the letter wasn't delivered they should complain to Tesco because that is who they bought the stamp from?If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
