Yes they can make you make your cv public.
What i do is make one without my adrress and just puy my mobile on.
Then when i apply for jobs i use my other cv with all my details on.
but then you could get loads of dodgy calls couldnt you?

something new has arisen related to ujm that i dont think has been mentioned. well at the moment i believe they can force you to register but cant force you to allow access. however twice now i have been pressured to make my cv public rather than private. can they force us to make our cv's public? i am worried about identity theft.

New rules state on the UJM / GG - IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT COOKIES, DO NOT USE THIS SITE - SEE YOUR ADVISOR FOR ASSISTANCE. (ie sanctioned)

I have to go for a review, as my current work programme came to an end. In the letter received, it states - You MUST supply a current CV, recent cover letter that was used to an employer, AND MUST SUPPLY YOUR GG NUMBER AND EMAIL ADDRESS.

Surely if you give your GG number and email, then they will log into your account?

The T&C of UJM/GG website state; 'We are able to monitor your usage on ANY site visited, while having logged into our system'; when I checking the expiry of the cookies, upto TEN YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even when not logged on! Yikes!

So the Government has carte blanche to monitor ANYONE that goes near a GG login, they DEMAND your email (and thus your login), and can spy on ANY website you visit for the next TEN years?

Am I being paranoid, or did it just say that in the t&c's, and this letter I've been given by dole staff... (but cleverly not signed for - their mistake!); surely this is against our human rights to be spied on? You check out their tedious T&C's, if you need to confirm.

So - to clarify - if you go onto the UJM/GG website, and sign up, then the Government is able to monitor EVERY website you EVER go on, for at LEAST ten years......AMAZING!

i havent been required to supply all of that stuff. i was even asked recently if i had allowed access and when i said no they said thats ok. they ask for your email because it enables them to do a search on their system which will tell them whether you actually registered on ujm or not. they dont take your word for it when you say you registered.

3 times ago, they gave me a hard time when signing on, you don't give enough information in these tiny boxes in your diary, and threatened to sanction me, even though I keep a larger diary with fuller information, if requested.

They sanctioned my partner, because her diary was full, and wasn't supplied with a new one, wrote her job diary on paper, no good.

Now we have them nice as pie, signing on an hour before time, because of a hospital appointment, both at once, didn't ask any security questions, as my partner signs on an hour before me; until this new rule comes in to crush us!

The thing is with the gateway system, is that it doesn't just log your web use, it monitors everything you do on your computer, for upto 10 years!!! and posts your personal info to the world. not good. it's in their t&c's.
