Is it bank or visa? I'm not sure about bank charges as I reclaimed them about a year ago now, but in the past week, Sainsburys paid out very quickly on a VISA charge claim I put in (even giving me more than I asked for!)Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
i posted earlier but someone moved my post into the HBOS threads so i didnt really get the answer i was looking for. My only question is, can I
try and get bank charges back now or not? i got all statements etc last year then came the big stop with the test case etc. Can i now go ahead and try and reclaim using the same system as I would have used before? thanks to anyone who can give me a straightforward answer.. xmyx

You should make sure you have logged your claim with the bank at the very least. If you can afford it, you may want to file a court claim when you get to that stage. Please read Martin's updated article, link in my signature.0 -

I received a letter from HBoS in which they offered me £1000 of the £1600 they owed me with out interest. The catch is that they say that the test case will not cover me as a self-employed person who has a business account. I have 28 days to decide?
Can anyone offer a solution to this? Should I cut my loses and accept or should I keep on demanding payment?

Can anyone tell me whats the best option to take with this or at least point me in the right direct for the correct thread....
Ok so ive been offered £500 from HBOS Credit Card... this is approx half the amount inclusive of interest calculated over the 6 years.... however they have stated they will if i accept only pay this off my current debt on the credit card..
what should i do?
1. take the money and accept payment on the credit card.
2. ask them if they will pay me the money cash/cheque rather than on the credit card, i always make regular payments on my credit card so its not like i miss payments anymore.
3. not accept this offer and go all the way for full settlement
Im confused and dont know what to do.
thanks0 -
The choice must always be yours, if they have offered half the amount and the credit card is open then it will be paid onto the credit card. If not then you take them to court for the full amount. The question is that if it clears the credit card faster is that going to be a problem? You won;t get the £500 immediately to your pocket but when the card is paid off then you have the benefit of one less card.
Whatever you decide will be the best option.0 -
Hi,
Could somebody help please I'm a little confused!
I have just been charged £35 for going £4 overdrawn and was also told I have to pay an extra £28; why do I have to pay 2 charges?
Also, as it's the first time I've been overdrawn, have I got a chance of stopping the charges?
If not, what should I do now?
Thanks.0
