hi all
im not a regular on the boards ,well the odd post now and again for advice.
ok my problem is that wen i found out about all the bank/credit card charges i gave it a go.i had success with capital one who gave me back £134 on my credit card .but alas not with halifax my bank charges are on hold pending the test case out come, fair enough.but my credit card, halifax one.are a pain.i sent off for the details of all over limit fees and charges way back in november, same time as my bank and capital one ,these 2 i had in a week or so,and sent off relevent details.now on to halifax one .i asked for statements but was told that all accounts where on hold pending the trial case.now its my understanding that this has nothing to do with credit cards .correct me if im wrong.
so i need advice on what to do since they have had 40 days to send me these and i havent got them.i am currently over limit by £293 on a £1000 limit but these have been incurred by over limit fees.and they keep reminding me too with constant phone calls to the house or mobile and im pretty much !!!!!! off with the calls now,i do have a standing order for minimum payment each month so its not like they are`nt getting payment.advice on what to do plz.
and thank you in advance.0 -

Hi. Not posted for a while, as i have been waiting for decisions from the high court. However, thought i would post this, to see if anyone else has received the same.
January 08- received from Halifax a 3 page letter about OVERDRAFT REPAYMENT COVER. We didnt ask for one, and certainly did speak to anyone on the phone etc....Seems a bit odd....We have to sign it and send it back...why?
Feb - 08 - WOW - HALIFAX have just increased their OVERDRAFT Charge from £30 to £35.00 without notifying anyone..........could this be a sign of things to come from the BIG BANKS...because they know they are going to lose the court case......or is just another way of already making MORE MONEY!
I though the banks needed to notifiy its customers in person when charges were being ammended?

Hi,
just a quickie, my wife has had here bank statements from Halifax and has detailed out all of the charges. When is it best to put in the claim, now or wait until the court case is over?

Hi,
i am a student who set up an account with Halifax years ago, last year i changed from Visa Electron to Visa, but asked for no overdraft facility.
I thought that as i had no overdraft facility if there were no funds in my account then no money would be taken, however i was wrong.
I have admittedly been a bit lapsidasical with my banking and in the last two and a half months have encountered fines; see below.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=5 width="100%" border=1><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle>Transaction </TD><TD align=middle>Amount </TD><TD align=middle>Charge Type</TD><TD align=middle>Charge Amount</TD><TD align=middle>Date this will be taken from your account</TD></TR><TR><TD align=left>Wm Morrisons Store</TD><TD align=right>£3.74</TD><TD align=middle>Paid Item</TD><TD align=right>£35.00</TD><TD align=middle>29th February 2008</TD></TR><TR><TD align=left>Sainsburys-Sprmkts</TD><TD align=right>£3.25</TD><TD align=middle>Paid Item</TD><TD align=right>£35.00</TD><TD align=middle>29th February 2008</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=5 width="100%" border=1><TBODY><TR><TD align=left>Itunes Music</TD><TD align=right>£6.67</TD><TD align=middle>Paid Item</TD><TD align=right>£35.00</TD><TD align=middle>18th January 2008</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
and a £28 fine for something else that i really can not see what for.
But surely this cannot be right!?0 -

Although you don't have an overdraft, it looks like you are being charged for paying the items for which there are insufficient funds available.

Hi! I'm a student trying to claim back £300 charges added onto a £500 overdraft and they are getting me to pay back £115 (£15 interest on charges) which I don't really have! I spoke to head office, said I would pay the £500 in cash (was going to get another OD to pay this) if they were to refund the £300 charges. They said no, and even when I threatened a small claims court action, didn't budge and told me all about the test case. I was hoping to get it resolved quickly over the phone...didn't exactly go to plan! I'm currently looking into case law to assist my case (law student only 2nd year though so been doing my research) but to no avail! Any help would be much appreciated!!!0
