It depends on what employment you want - some professions require a degree, so in that respect then the answer would be yes you do. BUT there are many of jobs that don't require a degree and experience counts for more. I worked for the Institution of Civil Engineers as an Admin Assistant and they told me that I couldn't be a Committee Administrator because I didn't have a degree - there was no real reason as I am quite capable of doing the job; the degree doesn't even have to be related - any old degree would do, so they were just being snobby imo.

If you want to be a teacher or a social worker (or a lawyer, nurse or doctor)you won't get anywhere without a degree! There's a certain level you can get to in some professions and then you won't get any further.

University work requires being on MSE 24/7

I can't believe you haven't bothered applying for more jobs. After all the advice that has been given. We really are wasting our time. You're !!!!!!! about on here 24/7 while moaning about uni and jobs. People spend their time replying to your threads offering support and advice and it's totally wasted. You aren't interested in working. You just like moaning about one thing or another.

I have not been on here 24/7 today. Considering I have a 2000 word essay to do I have to get on with that.

I will be using all that advice once these essays are out of the way.

What am I going to do it I don't get a job how am I going to live?

I have to do my essays for the deadlines don't you agree?

I come on here a lot because my essays fill me with dread and depression so who would blame me for having lots of breaks?

And you find that the general reaction to your posts helps, does it?

I wish I had that inside me to love my degree and to be really happy to do it and enjoy it but sadly I don't. I honestly wish I was a model student who loved my course and could do great things at it.

Now you just sound petulant  What exactly is it that you want the people on here to do for you? Don't you see that the only person who can change things is you?

I do not intend to get negative posts and annoyance. It is fine for people to have a go but when your course has slowly killed you inside for three years I just do not think they can understand how bad it feels.

I do not want anything from anyone just be treated normally. I am doing my best given my emotions and I am going to get there in the end.

Ach, I think I've had enough of the melodrama. I have no sympathy for those who won't help themselves. I don't see you able to get and keep a job with an attitude like that.

I know the solution to my problems is to jack in the course and that I made a bad choice of course and that I would be better walking away.

But given that if I can produce really good work for these last few essays and revise good for these last few exams then I can do really well, I am not prepared to be called a quiter and a failure.
