Surely all this bleeding heart bottom-showing isn't appropriate behaviour for a forum where people gather to have a laugh and save some money? This kind of thing can only be dealt with through professional psychiatric help. Please seek some.

Yes of course your Uni work is important. However, you say you don't think getting a job atm is a good idea because of having to concentrate on Uni work but you still seem to spend the majority of the day logged on here posting. Most Uni students I know have had a job while at Uni anyway. I personally think you are just making excuses.

You could have gone to town the other day as suggested, got lots of shop application forms and have returned them by now and be awaiting replies, but no. Nothing has changed. You're still here !!!!!ing about Uni and jobs.

If I was not prepared to help myself then I would have walked away in the first year and said forget it, wouldn't I? But no, I have battled on and I am nearly at the finish now.

And thanks to much of the advice I have got here I have managed to improve my grades this year.

I know logging on here is a bad habit of avoidance of uni work that I don't like.

Until Friday job hunting is on hold until I sort this essay. It is not that I don;t want a job or that I am not listening just that I have to sort this essay.

  • But how is your A level person going to get a Manager's job if you come up against a person with a nice polished MBA when your MBAer will know all the fancy management stuff and your A leveler won't?

haven't read the whole thread (some of us have a life) but experience is the answer to your question above.

my brother started uni, decided it wasn't for him and dropped out just before the end of his first year, he got a job as a shelf stacker in a supermarket, was then put in charge of the wine section. A few months later he was manager of one of their stand alone off-licences, from this he then got a job managing a small supermarket, all in the space of a few years.

(he has since decided he doesn't want to be a manager and has taken his HGV test so he can drive big lorries instead but thats beside the point  )

A lot of companies offer training on the job, for example, where I work the shop floor assistants can go on courses and become supervisors, then managers, then directors of their own store if they have the drive and motivation to succeed. And some of them haven't even done A Levels :)

The issue is that you moan about problems at uni and not having time to sort out a job, but your always online moaning about how bad your life is..... people are getting wise to it!!

Wouldn't you prefer logging off, concentrating on your work and then being able to report back here saying how well you've done, it will give everyone here a break from you aswell - i am amazed you stick around here when the majority of people tell you go !!!! off....for good reason!!

We all have problems phil, and sometime we air them on these forums..... but once we've got other people's advice we go and act on it and further ourselves...... you just repeat yourself over and over, i've never seen anything quite like it!!

I have an avoidance issue of uni essays that I can not do too well because I fear failure. It is a common problem for many you know.

I try to leave it alone but I have real motivation problems for my essays. I have done 500 words on my essay tonight if you are interested at something positive.
