Hells teeth, on top of everything else, abusive and threatening behaviour now, struck off? should be banged up more like...
  • They do have the same staff. Jessie Vincent, who took my order for curtains in late October 2012 and then fobbed me off about when I would receive them until January when she finally fessed up that I wasn't going to get them and to contact my credit card company, answered the phone the other day when I phoned up Great Curtains Ltd to see if they were still taking orders off people. (Yes they are).
  • Jessie Vincent was never an employee of Econermine Fine Furnishings Ltd. She may have answered the phone after 16 October 2012 (when all Econermine staff were laid off) but I believe she is an employee of Lifestyle Ltd.
  • Yeah I got stung too. And all of the above experiences sound very familiar.

Having reported the whole caboodle to the national fraud investigation whatsit hopefully this man will finally b banged to rights :j

Isn't it strange that five new members have joined MSE just to slag off this company. Makes you wonder whether the OP felt the the thread wasn't attracting enough attention.

Maybe there's a big problem with this company atm and all the new posters Googled and found this thread?

So Econermine are now in the hands of insolvency lawyers. But crook & co are otherwise still trading as Great Curtains Ltd. How long does it take for the fraud people to get involved???
  • My experience was the same as many others on here. Curtains ordered in Oct/Nov through Great Curtains but credit card charged by Econermine. When non delivery queried by my wife in January told Econermine had gone into liquidation a couple of days before. Advised to contact credit card company for reimbursement. Great Curtains willing to take fresh order honouring Econermine price. When I phoned "sales" number to ask for more details I was asked "Who are you then? The police? F....off!"

My credit card company have now re-credited my account with the full amount I paid so, subject to a waiting period of 60 days, I should lose no money.

I forwarded the link to this forum to the BBC's Rogue Traders but received no acknowledgement. I feel strongly that these directors should not get away with simply palming off their debts to the credit card companies. Has anyone made a formal complaint to Trading Standards, the police or the media? If so what was the outcome? What further action might we take.
