Quite simple then.
Buy something from greatcurtains(dot)co(dot)uk Spend over £100 and get a refund from your cc provider.
Or is your name Patrick or Gordon!0 -
I'm not arguing about your original post, just that you felt it necessary to impersonate others to make your point.0
-
I have not impersonated anyone am not the original poster and am not a customer, just a concerned ex-employee.
If you read my first 'newbie' thread you will see that I am coming from completely a different angle to the other posts and am providing information to try and help customers that are being sh*t upon by 2 very unsavoury Directors.
If you have a problem with this thread report it but also please note.

After more non-returned phone calls and emails, I sent a recorded delivery letter to the Coningsby address on 17th November - Post Office tracker says it's still 'In Progress', ie not delivered.
Checked Econermine web site - still taking orders! (Is this legal?)
Now spoken to my credit card provider (MBNA) - couldn't have been more helpful. They said that, as I've been waiting more than 15 days and taken the above steps already, no need to wait any longer; and they will refund my card within the next 5-7 working days.
Still desperate to get new curtains to complement my new carpets - but I'll stick to someone reputable like John Lewis in future!
Many thanks to MoneySavingExpert.com and all on this thread. (PS: Yes, I'm genuine - just come and look at my tired old curtains!)0 -
Just want to warn everyone not to leave it too long before contacting your credit card company.
I ordered curtains from Econermine at the beginning of July and never received them.
Following excuse after excuse I cancelled the order at the end of September and was promised a full refund.
Of course the refund didn't arrive either, and by the time I had contacted Consumer Direct (now CAB) and sent letters by recorded delivery to both Lincoln and Uckfield, waited in vain for a reply and finally contacting my credit card company, I was told that they couldn't help me because I had gone over the 120 day limit.
Econermine obviously know that if they keep you dangling for long enough they will get away with ripping you off.
DON'T LET THEM !!0 -
Many credit card companies apply 120 day limits for a chargeback.
HOWEVER, if you claim under section 75 for non delivery etc for over £100
'There is no time limit for section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act claims and you can claim up to 6 years'
Include the following in your claim:-
'I base my claim on section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 which makes you jointly and severally liable for any breaches committed by the retailer.'
See 'Which' under consumer rights0 -
I work on the industrial estate in Coningsby, the econermine factory has been closed for a number of weeks now. I know the post is not getting delivered as the post man told me. The entire site is fenced and gated so no access.0

Thank you so much, kirkby_iron, for the helpful information about the Consumer Credit Act and the advice on how to proceed with a claim. I shall definitely be giving it a go.
The letter I sent to Econermine in Lincoln must have been re-directed because it was eventually delivered to Uckfield.
The Horncastle News published an article on 30/11/12 stating that the Coningsby factory closed on 16/10/12.0 -
I was rather peeved to be accused of being an alias! I've been a subscriber to this useful website for ages but until now had not had occasion to post in this forum. Thanks for the information about the factory closure. I found the article by searching the Horncastle News website (this forum does not allow newbies to post links, sorry). It must be very difficult for the company's staff. I asked Econermine's sales department where their curtains were now being made and they hung up. Companies House records the company's status as "Active - Proposal to Strike Off". Econermine's website says that "In 2007 the Business was bought by the owners of Lynplan Ltd the makers of Sofa Covers and Re-Upholstery". According to the Companies House webcheck, the status of both Lynplan Upholstery Ltd and Lynplan Ltd is "Liquidation". My credit card company is now dealing with this as a disputed transaction on grounds of non-delivery.0

Following my earlier post I have attempted on a number of occasions to contact this company with no luck whatsoever. As I did not pay by credit card but by Visa Debit I did not know if I would ever see my £1,200 again. However, following advice on this site I decided to make a claim using Visa Chargeback. The only thing is Visa Chargeback does have a limit of 120 days to make a claim. Having obtained the relevant contact details via my bank I spoke with the Visa Chargeback team who sent me out a Declaration Form to complete. Quite simple and straighforward and had to provide copies of invoice, any emails, letters etc. I sent all this off approx. 10 days ago not sure what the outcome would be. Having just checked my bank account this morning I have been credited back with the full amount paid to Great Curtains. RESULT. Many thanks to Martin Lewis' website and the Visa Chargeback team. Other customers of this company please note. And yes I will also now be going to John Lewis.:T0
