To be honest it's ridiculous that in this day and age there isn't some mechanism in the law to shut companies down that behave like this. All Gordon Cook has done is shut down one company (Econermine, which had a good, longstanding reputation) and open another one whilst relying on the credit card companies to pay up the thousands of pounds which are owing to customers.
Now this man has opened Great Curtains Ltd for business the credit card companies will probably be paying up for that one as well. Absolutely nuts that companies like this can't be blacklisted by credit card companies so that when you try to pay for goods the transaction will be declined by the credit company.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then the chances are that you're looking at a member or the order anatidae (ducks). Judge for yourself.

if cook owns a legal practice then there are rules which govern his conduct. If it has been established that he is the owner then there must be a case for the law society to have a look at him

Chard Wallis is not a legal practice and the Law Society have confirmed that neither Gordon Adrian Cook or Patrick Bruce Foster are solicitors.

My feeling is that they were 'struck-off' some time ago but the Law Society doesn't seem to want to tell me whether they were or not.

Think we will have to wait until Econermine Fine Furnishings Ltd are declared insolvent and then complain about their actions as Directors.

However, if you are a creditor of Lynplan Upholstery Ltd send an email to the official receiver complaining:-

Econermine Fine Furnishing Ltd are not officially insolvent (wish they were) they have just declared that they have ceased trading.

However, unfortunately you are quite right that they are effectively continuing to trade under the name Great Curtains Ltd. No doubt having stolen any remaining assets of Econermine Fine Furnishings Ltd (stock, cash etc.).

Same Directors / Company secretary but not same staff.
