When i read this the 1st thing that comes to my mind being a lorry driver.

He moved to the right for the left turn, You came up the inside almost made it before he turned but not quite.

He failed to spot you coming up the inside.

I think all car drivers need to try and manouvre a large vehicle before taking to the road in a car.

Realise that if you turn left from the left hand land you wipe out the railings and lamposts, Or run pedestrians over on the pavement.

It will move 40 tons with ease. A family car is like swatting a fly.
Seen some nasty accidents in my time.

Shame the op who has probably never driven anything bigger than a fiesta don't agree.

you fail to grasp that the guy was in the wrong lane to exit the roundabout....learn to read....this is nothing to do with the guy needing more than one lane.

If you can't help and only want to try and belittle someone then go find a child and bully them and make yourself feel big.....

    QUOTE]

If he was in the right hand lane for a left hand exit he was in the correct lane.

    Was he indicating his turn?

No....there were 4 lanes on the roundabout....he was 3 lanes in and wanted to exit at a point where his lane didn't allow him to exit..theres a big arrow on it pointing to the exit after and not the one he wanted to turn off at..you must have seen it when you drive on roundabouts...idiots deciding they rather exit from the wrong lane than drive round again

    What exactly do you want?

    How can Tesco' investigate'?

Is there a police report stating the driver was driving dangerously? they will not take your word for it, they would want expert evidence.

    I second this ^^^.

OP - what exactly do YOU want?

The police say there is no case to answer.

The company sent a representative to the crash site.

The insurance companies are dealing with the damages.

So, what can you possibly want? This is a genuine puzzle for me.

No but I also wouldn't want to go on a witch hunt against a driver bad mouthing him on a forum when I didn't give him enough room either.

The highway code is quite clear about giving lorry drivers space on a roundabout. You ignore this advice at your peril.. one which you met recently. When you have your children in the car I don't think its fair for you to blame the lorry driver completely when you're the one ignoring the basic rules of lorries and roundabouts.

OMG....the driver was in the wrong....didn't indicate and was in the wrong lane.....there were witnesses thank god....probably why he accepted full liability....because he knew he couldn't lie.

I ignored no advise and was driving safely.
I am not on a wtich hunt and simply asked for some help on contact details. People like you have turned this into a 'there must be more to the story'....there simply isn't....sorry to disappoint you...

But trucks sometimes NEED to get in the wrong lane as they can swing wide... they sometimes even need to swing right in order to turn left... so, he may not have been in the wrong lane for an HGV - they need more room to turn than cars so don't assume he's like those other 'idiots'.

Unless you accept this is how HGVs are driven (by necessity, not idiocy) then you will continue to drive at risk in the future.

    I understand what you mean.

This happens to me all the time by all sorts of drivers but I do not think Tesco will investigate him for dangerous driving as you want them to.

As has been stated many times, if the police attended and had no concerns about prosecuting him, why would Tesco investigate him just on your say so?

They will leave this to their insurers and it will be just another accident to them.

I don't agree with Pepper often but as he says, on roundabouts lorries often need more than one lane. That is why (as I said earlier) I always give them space.

You say you couldn't see his mirrors because you were HALF in front of him. Does that mean you pulled out in front of him as he was coming around and got caught out?

Whatever happened, you should always give them tons of space on a roundabout as their vision is very limited.

i should have been clearer....half in front/ahead in the lane to the left of him...i actually started out completely in front/ahead of him to the left lane of him and had to slow done because of the car in front which slowed down....which resulted in my car being still in the lane to the left of him but half ahead and half to his side....hope that makes sense

Firstly, if the police do think there is a case then I think you would have mentioned it. If you are now saying they do think there is a case to be answered then leave it to them. You need do nothing more as the Law will take its course.

I repeat - what do you hope to gain when you use the contact details to contact the company? After all, I'm sure you weren't just asking for the contact details without any intention of using them.

I cant believe this thread is still going.
Ive lost count of how many times I have read 'there was no dangerous driving charge made by the police'

OP, whilst I agree it must have been a frightening experience, you really must just get on with your life or you are going to give yourself an ulcer. You are completely wasting your time when you could be doing something far more constructive rather than the path you are going, becuase that path, me dear is going to be a dead end.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
