my car was hit by a Tesco HGV
Not sure if I am posting in the right place....apologises if not.
Nearly 4 weeks ago a Tesco HGV hit my car on a roundabout. Driver accepted liabilty. I had the kids in the car and it was scary. One of them was crying and we were all shook up. The car was actually lifted off the road for a second and the truck continued to drive into us because the driver wasn't even aware that he had hit us. I had to beep to let him know.
Even though the driver accepted liabilty I have not been contacted by anyone from tesco and no one has apologised. I want an investigation into why the driver was driving dangerously. It was a friday afternoon and he was more concerned about not making it to his last delivery then me and my kids.
Does anyone have an email add to which I can complain. This complaint is different to the usual shopping complaints.
Any advice or emails would be much appreciated
Thanks

What evidence do you have that the vehicle was driven dangerously?0

If you thought the driver was driving dangerously you should have called the police.
I have never heard of a company contacting a party involved in an accident to apologize, it is just sorted out by the insurance companies.0 -
Hope you have spoken to your insurer.0

If you felt the driver was careless then why didn't you call the police at the time of the accident?
My advice? Firstly, stop being a drama queen - accidents do happen. Yes, it's scary but - and this is the really important bit to remember - no-one was hurt.
Now, contact the transport company - it may not have been a Tesco vehicle (even though signed with the name, it may have been pulled by a sub-contractor) - and ask them what is happening. What details did the driver give you at the time?
Get things into perspective and then get practical about it - not all emotional.:hello:0 -

I am not being a drama queen....let's hope you never get hit by a HGV....then you'll know how scary it was.
Police were called, they attended, driver was a an idiot who was in the lane to leave the second exit but decided to leave the exit before so went right into me. He accepted full liability and insureres are taking care of it.
I want to contact someone to find out if they investigated why he drove so dangerously. He is driving a HGV and when those big things hit something smaller they don't feel it. If they guy can't drive it safely then he shouldn't be driving it.
I asked for details of whom I could contact not made to feel as though I am blowing things out of proportion. I want to make sure no one else goes through the same or worse0 -

Being a bit harsh there I think. The OP has had a scary experience and with kids in the car wants to know if something is being done. I find that perfectly understandable.
The first bit about the police is just repeating what another poster already said, so no need to have another go about that.
The important bit for the OP is that yes, it could have been a contractor and they are only dealing with an insurance company. It might not have even made it back to Tesco.
The insurance aspect is seperate to what the OP was asking, does anyone know how they can raise the issue with Tesco and ask about getting an apology? Who knows, they may even get some vouchers out of it aside from the insurance claim.
I do hope you are insured with Tesco OP!What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

You are blowing it out of proportion.
If it was dangerous the police would have taken action.
You need to understand a 40' trailer takes up more space than you car so they often need more than one lane.0 -

And are the police prosecuting him for dangerous driving?0 -

If the police were called and have dealed with it, then they have also dealt with the "dangerous driving" aspect. From your description, this doesn't fall into the dangerous driving arena, rather a mistake to which the driver has held their hands up to.
You have no liability problems, so that's all taken care of.
Tesco are under absolutely no obligation to contact you to apologise. it may not even be a member of their staff. Secondly, it's not even something that would be expected of a company really, as it's been dealt with, and a sorry from someone not even involved doesn't really do anything.
What is it that you are actually wanting here, as everything seems to have worked exactly as it should and to expectations. Understandably you are upset, but I'm not sure what you are asking for that will help that? Accidents happen. Is it compensation you are wanting? Store vouchers? Something else, as it's not really clear.
As for the last bit which I have bolded, that's absolutely impossible to achieve.0 -

So, the police attended and didn't report him for any offence? There's a clue there, surely?
Give it up - the company will probably already have reviewed the accident details but they won't discuss that with you as it will be an internal process.
Leave it to the insurers and move on - what do you expect from all this?:hello:0
