    You just look at univesities staff lists and admin staff do have degrees or Masters even if the job ads dont expressly ask for them.

    Generally because university Admin staff are worse paid than their counterparts in the private sector. So the only people who apply are people who like universities, and value the kind of things they do. Such people tend to be those who have studied beyond undergrauate level.

    I have asked for help from my lecturers but I do just find the reading demands and essay writing a bit too much sometimes as they are not my strongest areas.

    Considering these are the two main parts of a degree, Phil, perhaps you'd have been better suited getting a job.
