    I'm not a graduate, and it's never been a disadvantage for me.

    I can prove my intelligence without a piece of paper and a pile of essays!

    it is probably harder these days to get on without a degree if you are young and starting out considering degrees are required for many professions and management jobs now.

    I think people with degrees are two-a-penny now; employers are looking for additional skills in their applicants to show that they are employable. It pays to have a well-rounded CV showing outside interests, the voluntary assumption of responsibility etc.

    Not yet. Still in my 20s but with 14 years work experience.

    A degree is useful Phil, but not essential. I know several people that are proof of that.

    Not what this thread is about though, and I have to drive back to London now.
