Not a very good sale, its just 10% off and comet are expensive anyway. Maybe they will make the percentage higher as time goes on like clintons did, who knows.

Customers (or should that be Vultures) who rushed to a sale at Comet have expressed disappointment over the level of discount.

I've just read some of the comments on the sky news website and someone says that they got £100 off an Apple Macbook Pro.
Just wondering if its worth buying Apple products from Comet or waiting for later this month when there might be Black Friday discounts. Plus if something goes wrong you have the safety net of being able to take it back/warranty etc

Apple products are rarely discounted so it's worth considering, if you were planning to buy the item anyway. The fact you won't be able to return items would put me off buying large-ticket items, but Apple at least do have good customer service so you'd probably be OK going direct to them if you have problems.

Apple take care of their own warranties anyway so you could always go to an Apple shop or call them if you had any problems.

On principle I don't go to liquidation sales because all the proceeds go to the creditors (banks) BEFORE going to guarantee staff wages. As it's the banks that got retailers into this administration meltdown over the past 4-6 years I feel that the whole system plays into their hands. Wishing all the luck in the world to staff losing their jobs, I've been there twice before and it's soul destroying.

    (ex) Comet employee are you?

I think the poster is maybe referring to the fact people are complaining about low discounts when the staff who are working there are very worried about the situation i.e. there are bigger problems in the world!

Picked up a Bosch Classixx Integrated Dishwasher model SMV50C00GB FOR £314.99 reduced from £449 this is about £100 cheaper than anywhere else online so i'm a happy bunny. 30% off all integrated appliances.
  • I popped in at lunch. The staff were really lovely and were really upbeat. I made sure I wished the girl well who served me and she said she had an interview this afternoon.

I managed to pick up my xmas pressie from OH. Would have been slightly cheaper online by a pound or so but OH doesn't 'do' online shopping......

I also managed to get a new kettle as ours was broken, again would have got it a pound cheaper online but it saved delivery charges and having to wait for it.
