My local Comet had the new Ipad4 with 10% off - £360 for the 16GB Wi-fi version
Would find it difficult to beat that price0 -
Will there be a sale on-line the site doesnt say anythingReceived £2,626.00 in PPI -2013:j
Received £1400 charges - 2006:j0 -
they arent all like that. My partner isnt, yeah they have to offer the warrantied but if he offered it and someone said no that would be the end of the conversation. he wouldnt force or push someone into it.
plus the warranties can be cancelled at any time by the customer so they can always change their mind.
We are now in a situation where my partner is likely to be losing his job in a few weeks, we dont know when or if he will get paid and we have 2 young children to look after. And in top of that its christmas. Even if he can find another job really soon (and the amount of people that apply for one job these days i dont think its as easy as you reckon)its going to be a while before he gets paid so just think about the people who will now be struggling over christmas.
Well said im in the exact same position with 2 little ones hope your okay!! i know how your feeling! x0 -
I heard dixons were holding off hireing christmas staff so they could recruit the comet staff (people with right knowledge and all that) maybe take a look there quick before all positions get filled...they arent all like that. Goodbye Comet

I can't get over the ignorance of this. First of all, just because someone works in a retail outlet does NOT mean they are unskilled. I have a degree myself and worked on customer services in Currys for several years, and many of my colleagues were university educated.
Secondly, the staff in places like Comet, PC World etc are under extreme pressure from management and the 'big wigs' to hit mostly unrealistic sales and warranty targets and if they don't, often they are slowly shifted out the door through performance monitoring and one to one sessions.
Retail is an extremely challenging and uncertain industry to work within. These employees are PEOPLE afterall, and are going through a very tough time which they DO NOT deserve.Feb wins: Angry Birds mug, £250 Perfume Shop bundle0
