I feel so sorry for the staff, even worse at this time of year :-(

I see Dixons are offering Comet staff jobs, initially over the Xmas period.

    Nice touch from a competitor

I wonder why I feel sad.................

These poor assistants must feel absolutely devasted, more so when they vultures land and are queuing at the door.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

The dixons staff were in comet when I was there, guessing they're looking to buy stock :p

My partner works for comet (a south west store).

he said that all the prices today increased to the rrp ready for the reductions.

starting tomorrow everything will be -10% off the ticket price. After a while (not sure how long) this will increase to 20%, then 30% and so on and so on upto a final reduction of 90% (if there is any stock left at this point).

So no mega sale yet as all the prices have risen anyway so not really saving anything yet.

Woolworths put pretty much all of there prices up to RRP and then discounted from there steadily dropping by 10% every few weeks, I imagine they will do the same and we wont see anything significant for weeks yet whilst they attempt to make as much as they can.

you have got it exactly right

Sending hugs to the staff, and I hope your pay is sorted out :)
  • Re the staff, it is karma for the shoddy extra warranties Mis sold to people who have the sale of goods act on their side

All the pushy sales people will find jobs selling double glazing

It is the nature of the beast. Unskilled jobs equals transient work

    Goodbye Comet

Is this really necessary! Unskilled people do not equal transient workforce at all.... Don't forget that there are people at the centre of this.
