Who will it be Romney or Obama?

Its difficult to say. You have a country that professes to be a democracy. But if you listen to CNN they are embarrassed by the examples of inept and potentially corrupt election practices.
This is a nation that gave us the hanging chad. Most democracies would have been so ashamed over the way they allowed such petty local corrupt practices to undermine its reputation. How we have voting machines that record a different vote than what you cast. Stations running out of ballots, a ballot paper that showed Obama as a republican and so on.
Then we have queues for 4+ hours to vote.
All of these seem to be in Rebublican's favour.
I would love to know how US Citizen's tolerate such things.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

This from the country that can launch missiles from drones, on to individuals in Afghanistan, from bunkers in Arizona.
They just make you smile, glad so many people follow them."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

That is a stunning display of misinformation, ignorance or mendacity, even for you.
Even the US left doesn't dispute that the corruption in US elections is mostly centred around Democrat supporting unions.
Right now Matt Drudge is reporting that UN Inspectors are shocked that IDs aren't required for voting in US elections: (http://thecable.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2012/11/06/foreign_election_officials_amazed_by_trust_based_us_voting_system
And who opposes voter mandatory ID most strenuously? The Democrats.
It might help if you gathered some of your information about the USA from sources other than the BBC/Guardian.0 -
FWIW, at 4am UK time it looks like Obama is almost certain to have won the electoral college with Romney winning the popular vote.
Democrats look highly likely to hold on to the Senate with the Republicans holding the House of Representatives.0 -

Romney has to take Florida, Ohio and Colorado to win. Obama is ahead in all 3.
CNN is calling it for Obama. The districts still to come in in Ohio are places like Cleveland which you'd guess the unions will deliver for the Democrats. Most of the districts still counting in Fla were blue last time around.
Nothing's impossible but it's very unlikely that Romney can come back from here.
Do we think that the BBC & Guardian will spend the next 4 years moaning about how Obama lost the popular vote? I have my doubts that it'll get anything more than a passing mention.0 -

CNN make a good point. There are 30 out of 50 Governors that are Republican and Obama is only really taking the urban and suburban areas. There is not going to be mass public support for his poicies and he is going to have a hard time getting pretty much anything contentious through the House.0 -

Hello ampersand. Am posting from my PC in the Sydney CBD. Am monotasking as a form or work avoidance.
CNN has Obama likely to win with a slightly reduced electoral college majority. Fox News also has Obama down as a winner. Obama seems to think he's won too although I guess he's not exactly impartial!
There's a bit of an argument breaking out on CNN between a blonde woman and a brunette about why Romney has lost. It's either because he's out of touch or because women hate him. They can't decide so they've switched to a bloke now.
I love these all night election shows.0
