Hi all
Before I forget, Congratulations embb.:T
I'm pleased to say I'm ahead this week, as I did the spare room yesterday, along with what remained to be done of the bedroom.:o Thanks be to any deity who'd care to take credit that I have a basically tidy, helpful DH! :idea:Maybe he was a Flylady in a previous life.:rotfl:
Tooch is there any rule that says Mr Tooch can't go and do some tidying in the spare room? I'd be inclined to tell him to shut his clack, and he knows where the bin bags and cleaning materials live!
I'd been toying with the idea of charity shopping a couple of floor cushions I brought with me when I moved in, and that we haven't used in donkeys' ages; but I'm glad I didn't. I've been having an awful time sleeping at night because of the pain when I lie down, so last night I put them behind my pillows, allowing me to sleep more or less sitting up, and although not brilliant, I did have a bit better night.:o I don't think Mr LW was overly enamoured with two thumping great Doghouse cushions on my side of the bed, but he'll happily put up with it if it means I get a bit more rest.:A
Unfortunately, I then had a nightmare, so I can't win.....:(
Of course the other downside is that I guess it's now more or less official... I've turned from “lover” into “patient”.:(:(:( *sobs uncontrollably for 5 minutes, then pulls self together to continue with post*(((Hugs))) to all who need them (gentle ones to LW - was it yesterday you had to see the rheumatologist?)
Skinty I have a lambswool duster-onna-stick thing that Mr LW already had when I moved here; I use that for down the back of the radiators; it also gets used for high-up dusting (lampshades, ceilings, etc) and the stick end gets used to poke the smoke alarm for its weekly test.;)
xx_Jo_xx hopefully now they've discovered the real problem, you'll start to feel better.:o It can certainly feel like an uphill struggle to get taken seriously, though.
One of the tasks I hope we can do over the weekend is a rake-up of the leaves in the back garden; we did it recently, but more have fallen, and it makes it much more difficult to poo-pick, as it's hard to distinguish the poo from the brown leaves. This is exacerbated by the fact that Dylan doesn't stay in one place to "go", so it's not all in a nice neat pile. (Sorry if TMI).:D
Oh well - onwards and upwards - I'd better get Dylan taken for a walk soon, before it decides to rain.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Howdy!
Went to play group this morning and left early. We all 3 were getting irritated by snatching toddlers and their mums not watching whilst walls got drawn on and books torn grrr. There's one that follows DD around and takes everything she picks up off her. His mum thinks its cute. Hmm. Fast forward 5 years love... Still cute?
I said to DS have you had enough and he grinned. DD overheard me and said "I ave nuff, I get coats on" lol so we grabbed our stuff, said bye to the fella that runs it and went to stomp through fallen leaves instead. Much more fun!
Gramps collected them after golf, and they are away for the night, whilst I get ready for the sale. This afternoon, I'm taking a bag of DH shoes to cash4clothes then a mooch round matalan, then home to price up my wares for the sale.
Then I might sweep some leaves up. Again!Bossymoo

I would have told him LW but it is mainly my stuff that I'm too lazy to put away.....I will learn!!! A couple of years ago OH paid to have fitted wardrobes and a dressing table in there so I could use it as a dressing room as tehre is not enough room for all my stuff in the main room............unfortunately I tend to use it more as a dumping ground!!!0

massive hugs of the gentle healing kind for you LW
bossy the other mum wouldnt think it quite so cute if her child as on the receiving end of the pulling and snatching, glad you had a nice time in the leaves
tooch, sound like out "spare" room we bought the lads a footie table from the carboot but theyve never used it and its now in there piled with stuff along with the drum kit DDs stuff thats staying here and clutter ive pied in. grand plan is to tidy enough space to turn that into my grotto/christmas store hopngi it happens before this christmas
DH has just been home for dinner and declared the house 'spotless' i'd have called it more 'ok'. he obviously didnt look in the boys or DDs rooms and our bed is piled high with this afternoons tasks. anyhow ive been told i deserve a glass of wine and my cross stitch tonight.SPC~12 ot 124

Didn't go to cash for clothes. They don't take books which I also had a bag of, and once I'd weighed the shoes, it would only be £4 or £5 and I thought the hospice shop could make that on just one pair. So I drove halfway across town (didn't want them in a shop near me in case I saw someone wearing them
) took them into the Sue Ryder shop, the lady asked why I had a bag full of men's shoes (just being chatty) and I'm sorry to say I burst into tears. I told her why, and she offered me a coffee, but I didn't want to stay, and she sent her helper out to bring the books in for me.
So they are gone. It's only stuff. I keep telling myself that. Hopefully it will all raise a little for the hospice, they were marvellous with him there.
So. Now having a cuppa and "regroup" time.
Btw, DD has had pants on for a few hours before gramps came for them, and no accidents! Bless her!Bossymoo

Well, the list is getting smaller and smallerDS and I are back from our little jaunt in time for DD3 to get home from school, and I am praying that DS goes down for a nap
cos I am wrecked
got my parcel and travelled into town to Homebase, couldn't pay poll tax and give them paperwork I need to as the local office shut at 1 for the day, when they used to reopen again at 2 after lunch, so have to hang that over til Monday now. Took buttered bread and lemon squash with us so we could buy some chips and have chip butties
DS was very good considering we were out so long, so we went to the nearby beach 3 miles away to blow off some steam...trousers soaked, sand everywhere in the car, half the shells from the beach in my porch.....I stripped him down to his pants before he stepped through the porch into the hallway, so hopefully not too much sand will have travelled through
DD3 has just arrived in, so asked her to put the kettle on.....might see a cuppa this side of 4 o'c if I'm lucky :rotfl:
no more flying now til DS quits, as he is bouncing off the walls - catch up laterThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
got a cheque to put in the bank, DS to pick up from ukelele club for his haircut and need to pick up driving licence forms for DS1 mil is getting him his prov licence for his 18th. GM and GP always used to do the coming of ages gifts earpircings for the girls and they'd got the girls thier prov licences. makes me miss GP (my wonderful fil) even more because hed always make a little speech of wise words when he handed over the certificate he made to go with these gifts.
is there something in the air today ive made myself cry now.
