I know there are lots of companies out there who provide software to hide ip's for anonymous browsing but I don't know which ones to trust - any recommendations?

Ideally I would like a free one but would consider paying if necessary.

Just to be clear - it is not that I want to stop anyone who was looking at my pc from seeing what I have been looking at (I think I could use chrome incognito for that) but it is so I can open an account with a company without them knowing it is me.

    Many thanks.

If this is for any sort of legal "betting" site then you're off looking in a wrong direction...

They wouldn't trace you via IP address...

They'd trace you via bank card details that you entered to add /remove funds from the account! (unless you go to the lengths of setting up a new bank /pre-pay card at a totally different address then you've got a totally different possible legal problems ^_~)

If you only use "free betting" or "bonus sign-up credit" then most (if not all) won't let you withdraw funds won using "free credit" only winnings against real deposited monies can be withdrawn into a bank account.

Just reboot your router and clear your cookies.

If you reboot the router (just turn it off and then on, if you know no other way), then you will be allocated a new ip address randomly by your isp.

Clear cookies by Internet Explorer Tools or Ccleaner.

Just asking but when you place bets you have to pay money right ?
so they could id you via the payments or payouts,
and as a bookies doesn't have any legal right to go to your ISP,

So you could create a new account on your PC and renew your IP and use a pre-paid credit card but to receive payments, that's going to be harder to because if they block you again then your need to repeat the process until you know the id'ing method.
Press any other key to continue.

I recently used a free proxy/VPN to purchase some download music from a US site that wouldn't let me buy in the UK.

It may have been CyberGhost, proXPN or SecurityKISS.

The second account I opened was in my brother's name using his address and debit card details - there was no connection to me at all except the account was opened using my computer, in my home.

In some way their system knew it was me again and blocked the account almost immediately - I don't know if it is seeing my ip address and flagging it up or if there is some sort of tracking cookie used when you log on to these sites but I can assure you they know who I am when I open an account that has no connection to me at all.

there are two-sh types of address.

    (1) fixed or static, which you always no matter what router you place on the line gives you the same address number.

    (2) Dynamic so is not fixed so every time your router turns on it requests another ip address, but it may get the same address as before.

    (3) there is no real third one, but a modified version of (2) which even if you leave your router disconnected for weeks, you still get your old address again.

to check your address you can use http://www.ipchicken.com/

i take it you are aware of iesnare? don't know if any bookies still use it or have developed other software to identify the same pc being used to sign up to bookies.

always best to use different pc/laptop/netbook/tablet/ip address if signing someone else up to bookie account

Why go to all this trouble? Pick another on-line betting site and be done with it!

Or is their a particular reason to stick with this on-line betting company????
