To the OP, are you sure that they are blocking your IP address and not relying on a cookie?

No Dave I'm not sure. I don't really know much about computers so just guessed at ip address.
Do you think it could be some sort of tracking cookie? If so, how would I get rid of that?
Many thanks.If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -

This has happened to me several times recently and on one occasion I opened a new account in my brother's name using his name, address and bank details and the account was closed down before my first bet had even run! The only common denominator was the pc I used to open the account so I assume it was my ip address being flagged up in some way.
oops must learn to read!
as suggested, why not set up an account in an internet cafe, or take a laptop to somewhere there is free wifi...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I place bets every day - wouldn't I need to go back there every day?If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
Minnie, it is fairly easy to fingerprint a person machine - look here https://panopticlick.eff.org
If you want no cookies and etc, go for a linux boot cd, they cant write to that.0 -

Thanks bluesnake but that all sounds a bit too complicated for me.If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
Sorry - that was sent from my mobile - I was so shocked to hear that someone honestly believed that simply erasing their browsing tracks on their PC meant that nobody could tell where they had been - that I sent a short and sweet message !!
No - ISPs hold a record of ALL the webpages that ALL of us browse - in theory forvever - your only way to avoid this is by using a proxy...
Interesting. I share my Internet connection with my neighbour. I live in a small village and run my wireless router without any security. Sometimes friends visit and use my computer.
I'm very surprised to learn that logs held by my ISP can be used to identify what I've been up to.
Out of interest, what personal identifiable information is stored in the logs? I've always suspected my webcam is up to no good.0 -

Correct. The subscriber is responsible for the connection, if you're the subscriber they initially come after you.Out of interest, what personal identifiable information is stored in the logs? I've always suspected my webcam is up to no good.
Enough to know when you last logged into your email and who you emailed. When you last logged onto this site (NOT this thread though) at what time and what IP.
If you log in using TOR, they know you're using TOR but not what site you are browsing - allegedly - although you always assume the worst. I can see the day approaching when they'll ban the use of anonymous proxys in the UK and encryption such as PGP.0 -

To check try using IE in private browsing mode - which will not show any cookies (I think) and should get you through to your betting site.
Here is how to remove cookies in Internet Explorer
If you use another browser, please post the browser name (e.g. firefox 16) and your OS (eg windows XP)
