OP you do realise that this is a public forum?
You have disclosed a lot of information that makes you easily identifiable, and your comments, if brought to your employer's attention, are likely to sink any last trace of hope you might have of keeping your job or getting a decent reference.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Not sure why some are giving the OP a hard time. She knows she's messed up and is asking for advice rather than a lecture.
I think because of her belligerent attitude, and inability to see that she has done anything wrong. She hasn't come across as being deeply sorry for it - just that there was nothing wrong because it was a private group (which turned out to be not so private after all, if the management have got to hear about it).0 -

Based on OP's stance/posts so far I highly doubt she'd keep her job OR get a decent reference.
If this info got out and it is a family company then she'd be lucky not to be sued for libel/slander (I forget which it is in written format!).
I suppose one thing her company does have to be thankful for, at least they've found out about this now rather than 1 year or 2 years down the line when she'd have more of a case for ET etc if it were 2 years.0 -
Actually, if you read the first couple of pages, people were helpful and tried to help OP see what was wrong with what she did and how to at least try and construct some sort of case that might just help save her job, even though it was a long shot.
But she has responded by making condescending and disrespectful posts about her employers, their policies, and their views on what they consider she has done wrong which have led to her being suspended and called up for a disciplinary.
Hence posters becoming more forthright.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

ITA with you and Swipe - read through the rest of this post. OP just seems sorry she's been caught out and more than likely disciplined.
I don't know what they can do after a short period working there but if it's classed as dismissal due to gross misconduct then a reference surely would be just dates worked and no *glowing* type?0 -

Can you blame her employers??!! would they really want a loose canon like that working for them?? *ahem*0 -
Aaaaannnnndddddd now OP has deleted vast majority of her posts....
damage limitation and/or guilty conscience??
wouldn't surprise me despite her protestations that not 1st time this has happened either.:eek:0 -
I still think people are being rather hard on the OP. She set up what she believed was a helpful private forum, for people to share their problems and support each other. She now accepts that this was wrong (I think!) and will say this in her disciplinary hearing.
In her position, I would say something like this to the employers.
'I set up a PRIVATE facebook page because I felt it would be helpful to all of us to have advice and support from our peers. I have now realised this was a mistake and I should have talked to management about ways of supporting each other. Please believe me - I set up the group to try to learn more from my peers and so that we could share best practice and problems. I didn't do it to harm the company in any way'
And if you get asked about negative opinions on clients
'I put down my feelings (or 'x put down her feelings') so that the rest of us could challenge this and actually help me/her to work better with the client. I know these feelings were a bit over the top but I/she wanted to talk through how I/she was feeling to be able to work with this client in the best way possible, get challenged by colleagues and see why this negative view was actually wrong'
'Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Thank you to the majority of you that have given your input. I put in several posts that I made a mistake , had no malice towards the company and will face what comes. Where some of you have got your huge sweeping generalisations from and information to form character judgements on me i'm not sure but that's part and parcel of these forums. I've deleted all my posts as the thread isn't going anywhere and i have the advice/opinons i was originally looking for - thank you.0

Nice try. If you REALLY think this will help OP's cause then think that way.
How ON EARTH are her bosses supposed to react/think about negative opinions towards clients??!!
If she'd been there a few years, HAD NOT set up but merely participated in joining the FB group etc then maybe/probably he/she at this company would keep their job and perhaps get a warning re internet usage etc.
But this woman has deliberately set up a potentially damaging media page to gripe about clients and payroll issues. and all this after what 4 months after being employed at her *new* company. If she is not mature enough to go to managers about a) client problems and b) payroll problems then she deserves disciplining.0
